View Full Version : PS3 Music Store Down?

Okay, so I just got the game for Christmas (woot!).
Immediately redeemed my export key code, downloaded the ability to get the key, went to the music store in LRB with the 10 bucks in hand.... and I can't connect to the music store. At all. It will load the store, but then, before I can even glimpse it, "Unable to connect to the music store server at this time. Please try again later."

Same exact thing happening here. The music store is able to connect off the Rock Band 2 disc though, but that doesn't help anything.

just wait a day or two, it will be fixed in time, you are on ps3 righ? my friend had the exact same problem, what he did was wait a couple of days and then tryied to download again and worked.

I have been trying to log onto the Music Store through LRB for 4 days now, with no luck...at all times throughout the day. Other games (RB2 and Beatles) work fine.
Never seen a situation like this.. I'm trying to give my money away, but they won't let me...
Silly
Hasn't been working for me since 7:30 this evening.

down for me, has anyone tried the regular rockband 2 music store?

It happened with me when I was downloading the AC/DC Track Pa- er. The newest DLC. All of it. Yeah. (;))
The download said it'd take 180 minutes+...I figured everyone was downloading their new stuff from the PSN store. Tried it later at about 10:30 PM Eastern and it went significantly faster. It's just a server problem due to the holidays.

Has been down all day and night for me here as well...if it because of the holidays OakTea than a whole lot of people must have gotten L:RB for Xmas lol. It's kinda disappointing but it will give me more incentive to play through and get trophies.

Down for me here too. Well, at least it was when I started typing this post.
Took 5 tries of "Unable to connect to the LEGO Rock Band music store. Try again later", then lo and behold, it just let me in.
But man, is this a slow download. Methinks I might run a cable to my router.

Keep trying, it's been like this for a few days now. It took me about 15 tries, but eventually you'll get in.

I got through today first try but like others stated...the download was kinda slow and I am on cable so it has to be overpopulated server issues that is the whole problem. I guess like Oak stated in a previous post...its because of the holidays. If it does not work keep trying or just wait a night or two and you should get on no problem.

I've only been able to get in maybe 3 or 4 times, and I've had the game for about a month. It's gotta be something on HMX's/Sony's end, because people can get into the other RB music stores. I dunno, I was just glad that Still Alive was free!

Have you tried doing this outside of the game from the Playstation Store? I seem to have better luck when I go through that - can you even do the export through the store? I know the RB1 export is available there.

No, you cannot download the L:RB export key through the Playstation Store unlike RB1 was. You have to have access to the in-game L:RB Music Store in order to export the songs.

I cannot find the export through the PS store. If someone knows where it is, please kindly advise.

I have tried over the last week, and had no luck. Of course I only tried once or twice, then turned it off. When I get home tonight, I'll try multiple times (like some have suggested), to see if that works for me. Will update when I get home.

Actually, don't you get the export key from the Playstation Store? You get the code for the key off the LEGO:Rockband website, and download it through the Playstation Store. You just can't export without going into the in game LEGO:Rockband store. Just trying to clarify.

Been trying for the last 48 hours and only get the unable to connect to server message. Different times, reboots, reloads, goat sacrifice, prayer, more tries...nothing.

I'm not sure what you're asking when you say:
"did you select the option to have them email you the token too or did you write it down??"
Does it matter? I asked for an email and used it.

I emailed the support group and their response was to disable all of your security settings, enable cookies, and/or use a different browser. I simply used Safari and the problem was solved.

How do you use a different browser on a PS3?

People having these problems, are you on a wired or wireless connection? I'm wondering if maybe it's an issue with wireless connections dropping packets, has anyone experienced this while hard-wired to the internet?

I have tried connecting with both a wired and wireless connection off and on since the 26th. Nothing. Right now it isn't a big deal because I'm enjoying playing through the career on Lego RB, but eventually I really want these songs on RB2. I don't anticipate them fixing it anytime soon though, it's probably right up on Harmonix's priority list right next to the PS3 "star sorting" patch for RB2...

I don't think it has anything to do with HMX, but more of a PSN thing. Traveller's Tales would have more responsibility than HMX anyway.

I got the run around from Tech Support too...been trying for 12 hours to log on. I have a linksys WRT54G2 wireless router and they told me that was the problem, so I hard wired it. That didn't work. Then they told me it was the internet modem that Time Warner gave me and that I had to create a static IP address, and open ports to get it to work. Luckily, I found someone who knows how to do that. Still didn't work. Then, they asked me to bring my PS3 to a friends house with an internet connection to see if it works there. Are you serious?? What CRAP! I can't believe it's THIS hard to connect to the server. What a joke. They should give us PSN credits for all the time I've wasted on this.
I'll neve buy another WB game again

wow...I got in to the wusic store
I just hard wired it to my time warner modem, and tried and triedn and tried some more. On the 11th try in a row (maybe 15 minutes or so later), I got in.
that seems to be the trick...just keep trying over and over and over. What a pain.

This is ridiculous, it shouldn't take 5+ tries just to get into a music store.

They were just taking shots in the dark. They don't know what's wrong. Their server is broke, but they want to make it out like it's a problem on your end. I've got a Time Warner issued cable modem as well as a Linksys wireless router, and I was able to connect to the store. Connecting is just a matter of luck and timing. I got on at 1:00 AM Sunday on my first try, but the night before at 1:00 AM - nothing, even after multiple attempts.

What isp/router are other people who are having problems using? It seems lots of people with Time Warner and Linksys are haivng problems, just wondering if people with other routers/ISPs are having issues too

none of that should matter if everything else works fine while using your internet

Don't take exporting for granted, Captain.
You have to understand, it is a delecate feature of the game.

Thanks for the info guys. I have been going nuts trying to get into the PS3 music store and was thinking it was just me. Wouldn't it make sense for tech support to follow these posts and actually do something about this problem?
Are they clueless or worthless?

I picked up the game five days ago. I bought it with the intentions of playing for some trophies and exporting the track list. I haven't been able to access the LRB Music Store at all. For the last five days I have tried at different times throughout the day, as well as the early morning hours. Still no luck. I emailed tech support. I still have received no response. So, I guess the ultimate question is, will someone in the know give a timetable for when this issue will be fixed?

Has anyone else noticed there is no longer a Lego Rock Band category in the "Add-on's" sections of the PS store? I know there was one there around christmas. Seems kind of silly to take it away, so now you have to guess which songs will work in Lego Rock Band? I hope it's just a glitch and not something permanant.
I also cannot get into the in-game store to get my export tracks. Just trying over and over...
My biggest gripe is why the hell are they making us download these tracks in the first place? The data is already on the damn disc! RB1 export worked just by extracting the tracks from the disc.

The music server must be run by Americans or something which is why it ain't working...
So pissed. Get your act together guys - THIS IS NOT ON.
