I.E. The guitar. 5 buttons as of now, and it won't exactly help your real guitar playing other than technique (Finger speed, strength, timing, ambidexterity... all vital skills). I've seen an electric and electronic 'digital' guitar somewhere or other that would almost fit perfect in this series if it was implemented right.
Basically it's got 6 'strings', which consist of small buttons, about 2 MM thick, the width the size of each fret and seperated the same way a guitar with strings would seperate notes. Think of playing a guitar, but instead of strings you hold down buttons that would mimic these strings.
That would essentially teach you guitar if they found a way to map it all out on a screen. You could replicate actual chords, teach scales, and actually play solos.. since the guitars notes would be static and unchanging, unlike guitar hero.
Wishful thinking, but if there was any way to get closer to the real instrument I can't think of anything better. I looked for pictures of the type of guitar im talkin about but I can't find any.
Other ideas? Post your pipe dreams :)
