View Full Version : *An Awesome Setlist*
Mushashi

After a whole-summer of hiatus and the recent release of RockBand 2, I've noticed that most of the songs in my "Awesome Setlist" where either in the DLC or the RockBand 2 setlist. I was so excited, and so where my family and friends, knowing that we'll all be able to play the songs we know and love. However, there are some songs that didn't get the attention they deserve so I've updated this setlist and replaced all of the songs that were confirmed with some new ones.
I also want to note that the songs I've requested are purely my personal taste of music. Please don't give me the "You don't have [name of band]! You Suck!" or "[name of song] is better than [my choice of song]". I'm sorry, but I can't please everyone.
If you have no idea what the songs are in the list, youtube is the GREATEST OPTION for music-hunting.
Enjoy!!!

I especially love your choices for Beatles song. Come together would be a bit bland, but would definately bring my mom to Rock band.

I'm glad you like it! I try to put together a lot of classics and oldies to appeal with the older crowd as well as for the people who are familiar with the classics. I also try to dig up as many songs I can find in the 90's (my music generation).
The funnest songs to play in rockband are the songs that everyone knows and remembers :D

2.Stairway to Heaven-Led Zeppelin

8.Lights and Sounds-Yellow Card
9.Build God, then we'll talk-Panic! at the Disco.

i agree with you, Beverly Hills should be included, but personally the song has a slow tempo and it's too much of an easy song in any difficulty setting for RockBand

I have to agree with 99% of that list, 100% of the Bands listed anyway. the only criticizm i could possibly give would be the one i make most often it seems. your Whitesnake choice is by far the worst possible one in my opinion. If you just have to go for a Ballad by them "is this love" or "the deeper the love" would be infinitely better choices.
Whitesnake
Still of the night
Cryin in the rain
Slide it in
Slow and easy
Fool for your lovin
Gimme all your love

Oh man, I completely forgot about "is this love", "Still of the Night" & "the deeper the love"! I'll post 'em up and probably make a pack, haha. Personally, I kinda like Whitesnakes "Here I Go Again" due to the fact that it brings back ALOT of memories. I really do like your choices, thanks for the feedback!

Well, have you heard of the songs of Metallica in the list? Some people love Metallica, some people don't...you can't always please everyone, so I like to leave my list as is, but thanks anyways :]
I like "I'm Lost Without You", but "What's My Age Again" is an awesome song to rock out on...but that's my opinion.

One Band is Missing, Atreyu.
Ex's and Oh's
Honor
Their Version of Epic, just for all the screamers out there.
Aint Love Grand
those 3-4 songs killer.
Nice List though, bought the new Foo Fighters CD today, love it. more FF for RB too.
Mushashi
12-30-2007, 04:25 AM
Atreyu is a lil too heavy for my taste and I'm not so big on the whole "screamer" factor. However, I do like Ex's and Oh's and Honor. But hey, that's my opinion though.

thanks for the feedback!
But as for "One Step Closer"...I dunno, I think it's a great song for RockBand, since it requires more guitar riffs, drum beats, and bass compared to their other songs. But it's alright, people have different opinions, so I respect that.

+The Cure: Just like Heaven
+The Cure: Better Days
+Muse: Stockholm Syndrome
+Silversun Pickups: Lazy Eye
side note:
I've been away from the whole rockband forum, but I've heard news that the upcomming DLC for Rockband has been hacked and revealed, but only the title of the song is revealed...some of the songs in the list is "Hysteria", "Misery Business", and "(I Can't get no) Satisfaction"...I know it's a n00b-question for me to ask, but is those songs really confirmed?

The Cure - Fascination Street, Love Song, Boys Don't Cry
I really think that if the Cure gets in, Friday I'm In Love should not be one of the songs. Fans of The Cure, as well as those who would be hearing them for the first time, deserve better.

Ah! I totally forgot about Boys Don't Cry! I'll add that into my list! Personally, I like Friday I'm in Love due to the fact that it brings back lots of memories of my childhood and my dads' "Band days of the 80's" - a jumpy, Happy-go-Lucky, feeling that the song gives and I think that goes well with playing Rockband (Playing with your friends/family and enjoying the song and having fun)..again this is just my opinion

ok so maybe i'm a little behind on seeing this topic but that set list is awesome/perfect for the next few months of DLC! if harmonix saw that then i'm pretty damn sure they might agree so damn it they need to see this topic and get these bands to sign these songs to rock band, especially rise against, i'm not sure but wasn't rise against already in GH3? but yea i seriously doubt we'd get rage against the machine and guns n' roses but they're still a possibility with their contracts with activision dying out due to GH3 being yesterdays news with them

I agree, I forgot to add more Bloc Party and Radiohead songs as I did in my wishlists when the same artist/band appeared twice on each videos. I would go back, redo it, and post it back up on youtube, but it's a b!tch to upload and making the video takes forEVER! But in respects, I do wish I had more time to make a 3rd video...but in the meantime I've got finals to worry about >_<

All due respects, I couldn't add any more songs into my list due to the character limit. I do like your Queen and Bon Jovi choices...but Bohemian Rhapsody? I love the song, but it's mostly a piano-vocal song...and yes the guitar solo and a little bit in the end, but it feels like all the other instruments are deprived from the rock out experience rockband gives out.

well duh, the original of course...that's why I put in the artist as Chuck Berry, not the artist out there who covered the song. The reason I put in "Back to the future, anybody" is so that people can get an idea what the song is. It's like trying to tell someone "Have you heard of Kenny Loggins: Danger Zone?" and they reply "What? What song is that?" then you tell 'em, "You know, from the movie 'Top Gun'?"
