So, today was Christmas, and i got Rock Band Beatles. Turns out the drum dongle is all screwy. So, here is what happens.

1. I plug in the Drum dongle to the USB Port.
2. I press the "connect" button on the dongle. (weird part)
3. The Dongle barely responds, a very dim light flickers.
4. Next, i press the PS button on the drum set. The four red lights flash rapidly, like they are supposed to.
5. The lights are flashing on the drums, the Drum Dongle is not even lit up, yet it says on the screen "Drum Connected" and is giving me options of "Quickplay" and such.
6. BUT THE 4 LIGHTS ON THE DRUMS ARE STILL FLASHING!!
And the pads are unresponsive.

The Guitar dongle, and the Microphone work perfectly.:D

What could this POSSIBLY MEAN?!?!

Thank you much, if anyone knows a fix/method/explanation etc. for this it would be greatly appreciated!

Having the same problem here. A solution OTHER than having to return it would be ideal.

many people seem to have this problem.

do the drums blink and then stop blinking (being on one controller slot) and then start blinking again? - this is a weak connection

do the drums keep blinking without stopping at all (not going showing all solid lit or just one solid lit)? - this would be a no dongle detected issue

is your playstation online?(this may be useful for having it complete up to date as this may have been a long solved issue)

all i can say is that a return for an exchange of a new set may be necessary

hope someone can help you

Well, I sent out a report to EA Games (Electronic Arts) about the dongle. It told me It would send me an E-Mail back within 24 hours. Its been 3 days. To my knowledge, there isn't a way of getting in touch with them in any other way. At this point its been 2 days, so I decided to give the store a call . So I called GameStop, the store I bought it from, the told me to contact EA. I already did.

Good Job EA, good job.

Is it flashing like when you need to replace the batteries?

I've posted this elsewhere but:

This has happened to me twice since I got the kit a few weeks ago and I figured out it was a problem with the power wires coming loose in the unit. I started a thread to try and help problems with faulty dongles that details what I do to fix mine:

Hope that helps!
