I would like to see them if its possible to just add more costumes, characters, songs and maybe fixing it where you can do the world band tour solo just in case you dont have friends that come over all the time instead of making RB 2 cause i believe the game is very well done once they get the controllers worked out. Plus wouldn' they save alot of money by doing this instead of making a whole new game? Tell me what you guys think about this.

This has been the plan all along. New DLC will continue to release. If HMX sees fit, they can patch the game to change features like Online BWT and such. No word about custome DLC, however.

Sweet thx i did not know that but it makes more since to me then making a whole new game which means it will blow GH out of the water.

Here is what I would do...

If they want to add more singers/venues/clothes/gameplay options then make it an expansion pack you can buy on Xbox Live like they did for Oblivion or as a free patch if it's in their financial model. Then keep releasing songs till the cows come home.

Save Rock Band 2 till the next gen of console come out.

Forget that, I only have a 20 gig hardrive that won't last forever, and if I just keep getting songs and features that I want, it's not gonna last me 'till next gen.

And I am NOT spending 180 dollars on 120 gigs of space. That is just alot of money and is ridicolous.

Rock Band is definitely gonna force me to upgrade to the bigger hard drive for my 360.

Well if you look at the size of the files for a song they are close to 30mb if I remember correctly. On a 20gb HDD you can hold 682 songs. I'm sure you can find room on that little drive to last you a couple years worth of DLC.

I guess xbox will have to make us a TB hard drive just for rockbad eh.

You gotta remember though, rock band isn't the only game people are gonna have saves for and downloads for. I'm able to keep it at a good 11 gigs right now but I don't know, things could change ;_;

Well, if you want the content, you've gotta have the space, one way or the other. Whether it's on DLC or on more disks. DVDs can only hold so much, as well. Also, you can delete songs you don't like anymore, right?

Plus, there's always the possibility that HDs will go down in price in the future. Knowing MS, I doubt it, but you never know.

Unless it goes WAY down, I'm not getting it. Hopefully though, most likely, I'll just get rid of game saves or whatever for games I don't have anymore. Not selling any 360 games yet though, still like all the ones I have and it's all I got anyway.

I hope they keep it up for a while but if they do I'd REALLY, REALLY hope they patch World Tour to include solo/online. Hell at this point I'd even throw a couple hundred microsoft points at the store for it if it'd help it happen.

Yeah, I don't know really how much they could really add for a sequel. I mean it would be pretty difficult to simplify a keyboard down to a few buttons. Personally, I would rather HMX continue to provide new songs for Rock Band, and in the meantime focus on something new. I heard somewhere that they were considering doing a hip-hop style game, with a turntable or something. That would be kinda cool!

Ohh... a next gen version of Beatmania. I'd love that.

Expect maybe blanding it with the Guitar Hero/Rock Band note system in some way.

The OP is dead-on. They've already created a perfect platform that they can patch with whatever and sell me DLC on a continuous basis (I've already spent about 25 bucks on songs as it is.) There is no reason I should ever have to buy another disc unless I scratch this one.

Yep, as far as I'm concerned they can just keep releasing DLC and patch in some new/improved features. I doubt they'll actually DO that, but you never know. Hell, I'd even buy a bigger hard drive for my 360 if I needed to.

Yeah, I agree with the "no rock band 2" band wagon. Just keep the DLC coming, and don't forget some of us would pay for non-song DLC (clothes, venues, instruments, etc) along the way as well. *IF* they ever did do a Rock Band 2 I'd hope (pray) for backwards compatability of the songs so I wouldn't have to keep switching discs out. At very minimum the DLC ones since at the pace they are going its going to outnumber the songs that come with it very soon.

I support this idea, except for one problem - the scarcity of DLC in Band World Tour. The only time you can play DLC in this mode is in Mystery Setlists, where it might not come up at all, and "Make a Setlist." I'd like to see them patch in some venues that only run DLC playlists or something - poor "Buddy Holly" doesn't get much playtime!

I agree with pretty much all that's been said before. The only thing is that they are, in fact, going to have to make the DLC content integrate more into the game, as right now it sort of exists in a void, as far as the scoring goes.

Can't you save the songs on a PC, if it's networked, and play them off of the PC as well?

Well, a keyboard has been done before by Konami as part of the BEMANI series. That was Keyboardmania - with a 2 or 3 octave keyboard and a playstyle similar to Beatmania and RB. A keyboard would be a very welcome addition, but I do not see how it would fit in the available screen real-estate unless you dump one of the other instruments.

they could always make it dual/tri screen like forza's devs did. But thats for RB2, i dont think they can put that ina patch. would like to see a keyboard tho

I'll pass on the keyboard. If I see Manfred Mann songs on the PS store I just might throw up. How about a flute so we can jam some Jethro Tull flute solos!!! Where does it end????

I think we have a while untill RockBand 2, but I wouldn't worry about it. They been doing new things into Rock band every week anyways.

Like most posters I'd be happy if HMX just provided more DLC. Which they will continue to do. But they will also release RB2 sometime in late 08 or early 09. This will be done to increase visibility / marketing / promotion / hype. I'm guessing it will have new venues, characters, clothes, etc.....and will include some songs already available as DLC and some songs that are unique to RB2 (in order to reel people like me in).

That's just the way it is. HMX has a huge hit on their hands (RB has done $200M in business in 6 weeks despite a high price point and significant hardware issues....GH has racked up $900M in sales since launch...this is BIG business folks). They are going to leverage this in every way possible...and that means more DLC AND RB2 within 18 months.

My question is how is GH going to respond when people figure out they can get such a bigger game experience with RB. Yes...GH will have die-hards who want the huge difficulty....but if I were Activision I'd be real concerned about the potential revenues for that brand. Like I said...$900M in 2 years...I don't think they can continue that momentum for more than another 12-18 months.

I would rather have RB2. That way I would be able to play completely different songs, instead of the ones from RB1 all the time. Release RB2 with 60+ songs in another 6 months :).
