I have a pretty wide selection of music that I like, and there are already a great deal of good ideas out there for this game. One other thing I'd just like to say is if any of this were to be for Rockband I'd like to see it as downloadable content. Everyone has different taste in music and what is great about downloadable content is it is optional. So before you start to yell, scream, be angry, or be like "that music sucks," please remember that this is music I'd like to see, and I am most likely not the only one.
One of the first sets of music I'd like to see is from Chris Daughtry. What can I say, other than I like the music.
Another band I liked (back years ago) was Creed. It is probibly difficult to get the rights to their songs, but I did like them.
3 Doors Down has always been a favorite of mine. As an amateur guitarest I learned how to play "Here Without You." Even though that particular song is probibly way to slow for Rockband I think some of there others would be just right.
Journey...PLEASE! Maby its just my group of friends, but who doesn't like to sit back and just enjoy a good journey song.....A singer in a smokey room, smell of wine and cheap perfume....
Some bands that I don't have much comment about but I like the music would include Papa Roach, Matchbox 20, Finger 11, Maroon 5, Lifehouse, and Nickelback. There are many others I'd like, and I'm sure I'll comment again.
I would also like to see some themes. Movies, video games, ect. I don't know the legality behinfd it but how much fun would a rocked out mario or zelda theme be? Oh, and I apologize to the singers on these songs, I guess you could beat the tamborine :/
I don't want to switch post tonight so I'll just comment here. I think some country add ons would be nice. I like Garth Brooks, Keney Chesney, and many others. Even though it is ROCKband, appealing to that market I think would be smart.
I would indeed like to see some slower paced songs. I know the reason the game doesn't have many is to keep difficulty balance, but if you were to put "Here Without You" on there the drummers position may not be as hard as metallica songs, but the guitar, bass, and singer will still have a challenge.
Even though I don't look to sing female songs, I'd like to see more. I think it would be a way to get my girlfriend to sing.
As an amateur guitarist (and I do mean amateur) I like the idea of feeling like your playing these awesome songs. I understand that playing the game and playing the real thing are completely different, but its the thought that counts. I also want to encourage you to respond with your opinion. That being said, responding and bashing are two different things.
One more thing is I encourage you to post your own thread. I am NOT a typical person who posts, but I do know that the company probibly has people who read these to find out what the consumer wants. So please post your suggestions and support the ones you like, because when you do this you give power to the consumer. Thank you for reading and replying. Thank you Harmonix for Rockband. Thank you artist for the songs.

PS I know its a long article, sorry.
