guitars wont work

So my hubby bought me rockband 2 for Christmas last year and we played it to death. But then I went back to work and got prego so I did not play for quite some time. The guitars just chilled in a corner. Then they moved with us twice. They were always out just never played. Now I go to play and they wont work. I changed the batteries and turned of and on the guitars and the PS3 itself. Help! I dont want them to die on me.

What's not happening? Won't sync to the PS3 or won't work in game?

If it's won't work in game, check the controller number, they need to be a number between 1 & 4. Press and hold the PS button to find out/change the controller number.
