A few months ago I picked up RB2 for the Wii, and I played it a few times every week since then. When I tried to play it today, for some reason the guitar just didn't turn on. No lights turned on or anything. I replaced the batteries, but that didn't do anything. Can someone please help me?

Not too sure, and I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, but, are the batteries fresh and in the right way?

Yes, they are. I've been using the ones the guitar came with, and the guitar has worked up until just now. The batteries I tried with it were brand-new.

I bought the game on Sept. 3 this year, so I'm not under the 60-day warranty. Did my guitar break and there's no hope of me being able to fix it or have it sent in for repairs?

I mean... this just really sucks. My mom bought me another guitar so I can play multiplayer, and the RB guitars are most certainly not cheap...

It can be any number of things that caused the guitar to malfunction and likely the cost of fixing it will be at least as much as purchasing a new one.

You could take the back off the guitar and see if there's something obvious wrong. A power wire unsoldered etc.

And go give your Mom a hug, she deserves it after keeping you in the game :)

I'll make a suggestion to you, but you didn't hear it from me.

Lean in really close, I'm going to whisper it to you.

(This is a one shot deal, and it ONLY works if the "item" you have is still in excellent condition and bombs out right after the warranty period expires. [It also can work within the warranty period, if you don't feel like waiting to mail something back and forth and wait for it.] DOES NOT WORK with things that have serial numbers coded on the outside of the box!)

Go to a large chain store (Walmart, Best Buy, etc.) that sells the EXACT same guitar.

Buy it. Take out ONLY the new guitar, leaving all of the other stuff wrapped up and pretty, and clean up the broken guitar really well (fingerprints, etc.) and wrap it back up just like the new one was.

Take the old/broken guitar in the new box back to the store THE NEXT DAY, and tell them, "Hey I just bought this yesterday, and it was broken right out of the box."

Most major retailers will just grab a new one replace it for you on the spot, and send it back to the manufacturer for credit.

Viola, you now have two working guitars for the price of one, and it only took you 1 day to get it replaced. You can now also sell the "other" to a friend, or put it in the garage if/when the one you are using now breaks or craps out.

We are having the same issue with our guitar. We got it back in March and played it until summer came. Just got it back out last night and the same problem. We played around with batteries and got it to work and then in the middle of the song it stopped working - twice! Trying to figure out what to do next. Can it be fixed? Do we need to buy a new one? We haven't played it much and sucks to think that it hasn't lasted beyond 40-50 hrs of play time by adults! Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I've got the same problem with my Beatles gretsch guitar, pushing the Xbox button just won't turn it on anymore. I dealt with it for a few weeks by taking a battery out and putting it back in while holding the xbox button down. That worked fine for a while but then all of a sudden the guitar refused to link up to the xbox and would turn off just after being turned on. I'm way past my warranty too so I'm gonna attempt to take it apart soon and see if there's something that can be done. Ill keep ya posted if I find a way to make it work but its looking pretty doubtfull
