Because they like the style of the music. They hear other types, but they like classic better. Also it's a factor of convenience. You could just put on the rock radio, and hear good stuff. Not all of it was great, but it was much easier to find a good band. Now, since crap is in the mainstream it's hard to find good music. And the alternative rock seems to be in a different style that the classic rock fans don't like. If music still sounded like classic rock today people wouldn't rag on "Modern Music".

There are barely any bands that simulate the sounds of bands from the 60s and 70s. There's music kinda close to post punk/New Wave, but it's not in a way I like. Some of the alternative sounds pretty good though. I like the stuff coming out of Britain.

I'm sure there are some uninvented rock subgenres that classic rock fans would like, we just have to find them.

Also, the reason "Emo" is bad is because of the way they dress, their fans, and their music. If someone called Led Zeppelin emo than they'd have no ground. Their style is Blues Rock they didn't spam power chords, they had talent. They dressed in the fashions in the 60s/70s which weren't close to emo. They didn't sing about meaningless crap like breaking up with your girlfriend, the genre had none of the negative stereotypes that happen to be true associated with emo like cutting, bad poetry, horrible dress, general stupidity, No Talent musicianship, and more.

And I don't even like Led Zeppellin that much. They're good, but overrated. Same with Black Sabbath. Ac/DC, and Aerosmith I hate though.

I hate censorship. People always find ways to get around that little document called the 1st amendment, and use children and morals as a scapegoat. I can't say the s word and have to replace it with crap. The S word has more meaning, that's why people curse. It gives them meaning. I don't curse much, when I do, the words have MEANING! The crap that Pop Punk and Pop Rock bands sing about is so terrible. It can barely be put into words. This is what is happening to the music we listen to.

Emo bands don't write about love. They write about what you say. Stabby stabby crap, and whinyness. A good classic rock song could be about breaking up with their girlfriend, but an emo one has an element of whinyness and hate. I forgot to note this. You're right.

Emo bands sing about both. Also I'm talking about the current definition of emo. Not the subgenre of hardcore punk at arose in the mid 80s.

Aiden is post hardcore, not emo. I didn't like hardcore punk, and it's a shame that that genre flourished and is still around, while New Wave and Post Punk died.

I reccomend their song "Mothersound" the most of their released work , however their singer left them and now one of their guitarists is the singer ... and theres a trailer on youtube called sweettrailer and like 54 seconds into it is a pretty cool guitar solo that will be in some song on their next CD

Even if you don't like them now , you might like them later this year.. cause they are basically a different band now(more so when the new CD is out)

The band shown in the YouTube video, the dude singing sounds like he's singing in a J-pop sort of accent. I thought it sounded good, and I'd listen to more of it. I don't know why everyone's getting all huffy about emo and talking down about unknown rock bands. As long as it doesn't have any "rap" in it, I'll listen to it. And speaking of EMO, that style and attitude is the king of what makes a good song. Long live emo bands. To quote from that great Alice in Chains song, Dirt: " I want to taste dirty, a stinging pistol in my mouth, on my tounge. I want you to scrape me from the walls, and go crazy like you made me." #1. MY MUSIC? No.. I listen to EVERYTHING.. power metal is but 1 thing
