Is there a bass or is there going to be a bass guitar sold for Rock band? Do you just use a regular guitar for the bass?

Bass guitar, and you just use the strat controller.

You can use the regular Strat as a bass guitar, or if you use the PS2 or 360, you can use a Guitar Hero controller for a bass guitar. If you're on a PS3 and want to use two guitars at the same time, locally, you have to wait until either Harmonix starts selling individual Strats (which is estimated to be February) or Activision to pull it's head out of it's ass and let Harmonix publish the patch that makes the Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul controller work (estimated to be when hell freezes over).

There will not likely ever be an edition of Rock Band sold with 2 guitars included.
