View Full Version : The most you've ever paid, or would pay, for concert tickets?

As most concerts generally run between $15 and $45, was wondering what the most you guys have paid for a concert ticket. Myself, i paid several hundreds of British pounds to see Pink Floyd at Live 8. I won't disclose the exact amount in fear of getting too many  faces in response, but i'll just say that it exceeded 500 by a couple hundreds. Besides that concert i once doled out $110 to see Iron Maiden, and $145 to see Roger Waters.

I've only been to one concert, and I didn't pay for it. It was an early birthday present.

I bought two tickets to see the Ozark Mountain Daredevils for 110 each... I'd do the same again to see Neil Young if the oppertunity presents itself, but I'm not really a concert person.

I paid $120 (Australian) for front-row tickets to see R.E.M. about 5 years ago. My favourite band and a really good show so well worth it. Besides that most of the concerts I've been to have been in the 50-80 dollar bracket.

Genesis cost me almost 300.

the most i remember ever paying was about $30 for mogwai and bardo pond about 10 years ago.
i've been to shows that had a higher ticket price, but being the ultra-hip guy i am was able to get in free.

my main problem is that i oftentimes have had to travel at least 8 hours for a good show.

Dear [insert record label name],

I'm doing a review of [insert concert name] for the magazine i work for. Was wondering if you have any available press passes left, and if they include a +1.

It's usually about that easy.

haha, i had a super small fry zine when i was younger and then wrote for a mid-sized punk zine a little later.

i don't think i ever got into a show free because of it, but i continued to receive promos from some of the bigger labels who are obviously too busy to keep up for many years.

Well, I paid $200 out of my own pocket to see Staind/Chevelle/Shinedown with a friend (and I'm only still a kid), and when I was 11 my mom spent $500 for three of us to see Roger Waters.

I can say now I don't like Pink Floyd .

Tickets for MDF ran me $130, $145 if you count the pre-fest party.

$108 to see Santana.

DemiGodRaven
01-03-2010, 03:43 PM
$65 for Lollapalooza 2004 out in Mountain View.

Other than that, most shows I've attended have stayed between the $10 to $50 range. I usually end up buying Lawn Seats for bigger festivals since I find myself caring more about the smaller stages than I do the big one.

I think the most I'd be willing to pay though would around $90, and that'd have to pay an amazing show.

All 3 tickets for the Dead Weather were $100 total.
I'd spend more to get the 3day Bumbershoot passes, though.

Yeah $100 dollars is the most I have paid and that was for a 3day Bumbershoot pass. But now I have a friend who can hook up $15/day for Bumbershoot so I don't spend that anymore. Other than that I guess it would be Sasquatch music festival I paid like $60 for one day. And if festivals don't count I think I spent near $50 for Oasis. I'll have to check my concert tickets when I get back to college.

I got $100 tickets to Cruefest 2 this past summer. I was in the second row. If you count the amount of alcohol, merchandise, and other things I'd rather not mention, the entire event cost me about $250.

50 bucks, that's how much I paid to see muse and ssp and the most I've ever paid for tickets. I'd pay more, but it'd have to be a crazy amazing show. I'm a firm believer in the mandatory $20 ticket price, and in my socialist utopia, that's how much U2 tickets cost.

Paid: $67.75 for Tool.
Would pay: the sky's the limit...depends how amazing the show is. I'd pay $100 for, say, three of my very favorite bands; I'd throw down $500 or more for a festival full of them.

My limit? Probably $100.

Most I've ever paid for a show (excluding festivals and other big events) is $35.00 CAD to see Dinosaur Jr. Most of the shows I go to cost between $10 and $25. The most I've ever paid for a music event was $100 for Sled Island Festival (which I'll be paying again this year).

The most I'd ever pay for a show would depend on entirely on the band(s) playing. I'd say my limit for a single band would be $80.

125$ to see Pearl Jam in 94'
180$ to see Bruce Springsteen solo acoustic
120$ to see Eric Clapton
I remember the shows like they happened yesterday but I had to go check the stubs to see how much I paid.
That goes to show you,it really doesn't matter if it's worth it to you at the time.:D

I paid $180 a seat for my wife and I to see Page & Plant at Redrocks back in '98 - awesome show, well worth it. We always told each other we'd pay anything to see the Police, but when they came through a few years back, it was meh... I'd pay $1000 to see Kyuss play a porta-potty in Nebraska. I'm not joking.

onidragon
01-12-2010, 02:01 AM
I payed around $90 to see Star Wars In Concert, and $75 to see Metallica with the Sword. My limit really depends on the band. I WOULD have payed for the Nin/ja tour, but by the time I got the cash it was sold out. :(

Most I've payed was $120ish bucks for two VIP tickets to see Nightwish, one for myself, and one for the gf. Hardly worth that much. Nightwish sucks live now, and the only thing the VIP tickets got us was a chance to shakes hands, say hi, take some pictures, get some stuff signed, and get first dibs on where to stand.

I would pay 300 at the most, for an incredibly awesome Epica (must include full orchestra and be in front of pit), or Yeah Yeah Yeahs (must have standing area next to stage, and must get to be in front of said area) show.

Luckily, the YYYs show I went to was considerably more cheap than that, and still incredibly awesome.

Zero dollars. I've only ever won tickets. I won tickets about a year and a half ago to see Testament, Motorhead, Heaven And Hell, and Judas Priest. And then this past December I won 2 pairs of tickets, one to see Alice In Chains, and the other pair to see Muse and Silversun Pickups. Both shows in March. I'll stick to winning tickets, saves me a fortune!

$35 dollars to see Black Tide, All-American Rejects, and Taking Back Sunday at the House of Blues at disney. It was a pretty good deal...

Something around $80 for Canadian Carnage last June. Megadeth was a little off that night, but Slayer was totally killer. Megadeth made up for it on their Rust in Peace tour this March though (unfortunately Exodus was bad that night, and they were incredible when I saw them a month earlier).
