Online Multiplayer In Game Chat? (PS3)

My question is, how do you communicate in game (PS3)? I played a couple of tracks lst night with a buddy and couldn't figure out how to talk to each other (Picking song, instruments, difficulty, etc..) Is this fucntion available or not? Thanks.

What I think you have to do is start a private chat in the menu system on the PS3 THEN load up the game. If that doesnt work then I doubt you can talk to him otherwise because the PS3 doesnt have in-game access to any of the menu system functions like checking messages or any of that.

I agree please voice chat on PS3. You don't want the community to go stale. We are buying downloads every week as long as we are into the game.
