Hi,
Can someone tell me why RB2 does not recognise my 16gig SD card.
I have had to revert back to my 2gig card.

Rock Band was brought out on the Wii prior to Nintendo providing support for SDHC cards. Thus it was not coded to support SDHC as there was none at the time.

OK. Thanks, As I'm in the UK and the game has not been released that long here, I forgot about that.:o
Will this apply to the Beatles as well?

No, The Beatles: Rock Band on the Wii does support SDHC cards.

A search of these forums will lead you to the info regarding the use of NON-SDHC 4Gb cards w/ RB2 Wii.

They are rare, but do exist.

The most popular one for this use has been this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208411

The Transcend is a 4GB SD (really it' s 3.71GB formatted) & has a 133X Write speed. I use one strictly for RB2. I have 165 tracks on it now - should have room for 20-30 more.

The link to NewEgg will show that it's out of stock (has been for a while), but you can search the model number via Google, Yahoo, etc. Found a few online retailers that were also out of stock & a few who did have 'em, but w/ severly jacked up prices. I paid less than $20 shipped for mine last year.

I just ordered this card today:

http://www.flash-memory-store.com/qmemory-sd-150x-4gb.html

A QMemory 4GB SD (not HC) w/ 150X speed rating. Should arrive sometime late next week - I'll report back on how well it works. Cost me the same as the Transcend via NewEgg did last year.

BTW - this US retailer lists prices for & ships to the UK as well

Using these cards requires a minor "trick" as although the Wii will recognize them, RB2 technically does not. In prder to get these to operate, you need to insert the card either when the game displays the "SD content" screen msg prior to hitting the main menu - or you have a RB2-compatible card in the Wii, get all the way to the main menu of RB2, then swap the 2GB for the 4GB.

Minor headache, but it does double the amount of space you have available for RB2 tracks.

considering how long we've had to wait for RB2 to be release here, they really have no excuse for not including the SDHC in it!! I'm really annoyed with that, don't want to have to keep switching SD cards.

that'll be their loss in the end since that will limit the number of DLC we can have.

So are we the only People in Europe and the rest of the World bothered about this?

I really don't believe Harmonix would have RB2 for the Wii rewritten to support SDHC. The hold will likely be licensing/red tape issues.

As you said, you can use more than one card, so the limit is self imposed.

And swapping SD cards out in game on Wii works just fine. & is not THAT big a deal. At this point, though, RB2 is the only one I need to do this with. The other 3 music games I havethat need storage - TB:RB, GH5 & Band Hero - all have their respsective content on a 16GB SDHC along w/ all my WiiWare & VC stuff.
