PS3 - What region for export/import?

Looking at getting lego rb and wanting to expert/import the songs into my US RB2 game.

The thing is, I live in UK, with RB1 I wasnt able to import my UK songs into the game, had to get a US copy of RB1 to do so, but it seems lego rb import system is different. Can I get a UK game but just redeem the code on the US store and it will work? or will I need a US game?

No, need the US copy because it's a download, which means you need a US copy to get a US code to to be region-compatible with your RB2.

PS3 DLC is region-controlled (definitely with RB; I assume with other PS3 games as well), so if you've been buying US versions of the games, you'll need to continue doing so.
