Will the PS3 Rockband Instruments work with the PS2 Console? Please reply.

I believe there are other threads on this and that the instruments are actually the same between the PS2 and PS3 so they will work together (must people currently playing on the PS2 are actually using ps3 instruments atbleast for drums).

They 100% definitely do. This has be confirmed by Harmonix representatives on the boards, and I, personally, was using PS3 instruments on a PS2 *yesterday*.

I went to Best Buy just now and they said it doesnt work. How do you connect the PS3 guitar controller with the PS2 if its wireless? Can you post some pics of it?

Rockband uses usb controllers for both PS2 and PS3 (the exact same ones if what I have been told is correct). The wireless is handled by plugging a USB receiver into the system. This is why the PS2 bundle comes with a USB hub. Whoever said it is not compatible didn't know what they were talking about.

Does the USB receiver come with the PS3 Bundle?

The PS3 bundle does have the USB receiver but it does not have the Hub you will need (PS2 only has two USB ports but will require 3 to use the drums, mic and wireless guitar.)

Note that the Guitar Hero guitars for PS2 *do* work with Rock Band, so you can use those, too. You need a controller plugged in for the guy using the microphone, by the way. That part is usually hard to figure out.

And yes, you'll need a USB hub in order to use drums, mic, and the rock band guitar, but any old USB hub will work, powered or not. You can pick one up pretty cheap if you don't already have one.

Yes, it comes with all the bundles. None of the instruments are wireless.

This is a little misleading. The 360 guitar is wired (USB). The PS2/PS3 guitar is wireless with a USB dongle you have to plug in (one per guitar). And yes, the PS2/PS3 bundles come with the dongle.

Yeah I picked up an el cheapo powered usb hub from my local computer store, plugged it into my 40gig PS3 model, and it works a charm.

See, Sony aren't all bad :D
