No PS3 band scores are being recorded to the server for all or most DLC for the past couple of months. The songs don't appear under "by song" -> "Band" on the leaderboard web page either. Could you please let us know if anyone is looking at the problem?

Im awaiting an answer too, but there are bigger issues wait till you realize the ingame leaderboards arent updating since the patch.

Wow, really? I don't think I've seen that problem. New scores for songs we played since the patch are showing up on the web based leaderboard, so they must be getting stored on the server, right? But your scores aren't?

I'm just not seeing any band scores for anyone for all or most of the new DLC for weeks now. :(

I'm beginning to seriously doubt if HMX does much testing regarding the leaderboards at all. First the career leaderboards were broken, then the infamous BOTB contest where the results were all messed up, and now this. I hate to be negative but I am a software test engineer so these things really irk me.

I have had scores show up on Keldon in the last few days but they are all from songs played pre-patch. Everyone claiming that theirs are working check again and make sure that the new songs are ones you actually played post patch. Also look at the leaderboards for this weeks new songs. They are rather empty don't you think??

check it out:
http://keldon.net/rockband/leader.cgi?type=SONG&sid=rocknrollhighschool&game=ALL&platform=PS3&instrument=GUITAR

All scores are from RB1. Once again I hate to be a jerk but if HMX actually owns a PS3, please use it and test your fixes. This includes online content like leaderboard scores. Thanks!

Ok here's what I've been able to put together.

The week of 11/24 was the last time we had fully working leaderboards (except the career lb glitch we already know about). Solo and band scores were being saved to the server and showing up in-game and on the rb.com web leaderboard.

After that, only solo scores were updating for any new songs. No band leaderboards at all for songs released since 11/24.

Since the patch, no solo scores are being saved to the server at all for any song. Our band scores are not showing up on the in game leaderboard. I do see them update on the rb.com web page leaderboard, but only for songs 11/24 and older. Is anyone else seeing the same behavior?

Keldon hasn't picked up any of my band's scores or band member's and friend's solo scores either for songs played since the patch.

Just noticed this myself, it's the same issue for me. Very disappointing since, for many of us, the competitive aspect of this game is where half the fun is at.

I completely agree.

I've been holding off on playing a lot of Rockband 2, espeically scoring individual songs since September/October waiting for the PS3 software to be patched because I knew I'd have to replay songs (for Star sorting purposes) and almost began to lose interest in the game itself because of how long it took to patch the PS3 software.

So FINALLY we get the patch, and the individual scoring no longer works. =[

Please Harmonix, fix this before I completely lose interest in Rockband 2...

how will i ever catch pbsp now? lol Harmonix c-mon help us out the issue is we are NO LONGER CONNECTING TO ROCK CENTRAL after finishing a song so no leaderboards are updating anywhere, band or solo, this is a major issue for the top players who like myself have invested thousands in your franchise, we are your hard core customer base, everyone in this thread is highly ranked on their instruments and we are frustrated by the percieved lack of interest for ps3 users. If this was an xbox issue these forums would have crashed by now. Funny though if you look at top scores cross platform it seem ps3 users are more passionate about their solo scores, esp vocalist ps3 has 9 of the top 10 for career score.

Oh no harmonix you better get some more servers online quick for the forums, if xbox is also having the problems then these forums will quickly grind to a halt like they used to on dlc anouncement days! Wii users had this problem before and it got sorted out after a few months from what im hearing. But i have noticed a huge drop in people playing rb on my friends list since this failure. No desire with no measuring stick for success, last night was the first time ever since launch of rb 1 that we could not find anyone even on quickplay. I really hope harmonix is taking this seriously and looking into it despite the silence on the issue since wed. We would be happy with a hey were aware, but no not even that, but ill bet now that xbox is having the problem, they will get priority, then maybe they will look into the ps3 issue, perhaps even acknowledge it exists. As a ps3 user of rb i am used to this kind of treatment, its almost come to be expected. I am dissapointed by the lack of acknowledgment on harmonix part. Wait untill everone finds out about the Modern Warfare xbox agreement that was signed. People are going to be mad!! I understand that the xbox community is significantly larger, but these kinds of things are underhanded IMO and not in the best interest of the gamers regardless of what platform we choose. We are loyal and dedicated to our machines, and wish to have the support of harmonix when issues arise that were patch related, the patch broke our systems connections, please fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't had any scores update since the second Tom Petty pack. I really only play in my band so I don't know the status of solo scores on xbox, but band scores are definitely not updating. First the tour glitch kills my band, and now this...

Cannibal, it seems that only band scores are the issue on Xbox because I have friends who play on Xbox and they've said their solo scores are updating fine.

The PS3 issue with solo scores is the primary concern, which only occurred after the release of the recent patch. Evidently something in the patch caused this to happen, which means it's most likely a result of an overlook on HMX's part during testing.

It would be nice of a moderator to post so we can at least know both of these issues are being looked into. Even recognition or admission that there IS an issue would be nice.

Harmonix has a habit of "playing things close to the chest", apparently they don't want to make any promises they may not be able to keep, but rest assured that they do see these threads and they are working to resolve this problem as soon as they can. This game is their bread and butter, I doubt they would simply let it fall into ruin.

Had RB1 and 2 for PS2 ...just got a PS3 2 weeks ago and the FIRST game I bought was RB2 of course! Awesome features in the PS3 version. Happily unlocking trophies for PSN.

I'm confused. Leaderboard does not seem to be updating. I play the game tons, it tells me it's "Connecting to rock central" seemingly without issue and my scores are easily good enough to rank.... but the leaderboards always say to me "Unranked. You need to play..."

1) What am I supposed to be seeing?

2) What's the difference in Local tour and Online tour? Are both supposed to affect leaderboards?

thanks!

oh and... My Beatles RB trophies aren't showing in my PSN trophy detail list. anyone else? *sigh*

sad sad sad

lots of DLC, lots of playing and no credit on the leaderboards.

anybody figured out any workarounds that help? I have played my DLC in my band in my online tour as a solo vocalist and also in online solo and band (as a solo vocalist) quickplay but my DLC songs still don't register a score.

My drummer has been playing the same way and her solo scores ARE showing up.

Our band scores seem to be affecting our overall leaderboard standing but sometimes they don't show up by song.

but still, it's sad.

ok, now i'm confused.

can anyone answer these questions please?

what do i have to do to show up on the leaderboards (solo/band)?
i played in tour-mode and in quick play, local tour and xbox live-tour and the scores i got only show up under "local players", even though i earned enough points to show up on the "all players"-tab.

so is this a bug or did i do something wrong (wrong mode of playing etc.)?

After the recent title update for the PS3 version of RB2 the leaderboards haven't been updating for anyone. There's nothing that we can do right now, Harmonix knows about it and they're working on it. We'll just have to wait until it's fixed.

1 month and solo ps3 leaderboards are still broken.

BurningPandaHeads

Maybe its just me, but the leaderboards only update in two ways, and it seems to work like this -

Solo Leaderboards - can only be affected by solo quickplay - Band quickplay wont work as the game thinks you're in a band, and saves it as a friends score from what i can see, as if it were a local score(as your PSN(1/2/3/4) - if you play 1 player tour, it obviously counts for your band(as you've selected a band), I know its stupid, but it's registered to your band name which is more then likelly in a different database to your PSN.

Band Leaderboards - Can only be affected in Band Tour(possibly online too) - in Band quickplay it has no Band name to allocate the score too, so it saves it as a local score.

The fastest way to fix it, would be to offer a solo tour, and to allow you to select your band in Band Quickplay, at a guess i'd say that the HMX have seperate databases for the two options, so they're not straight interchangable....

So yeah if you wanna score Solo, use Solo Quickplay, if you wanna score as a band you need to be in tour. I don't remember it working anyother way

Keldon hasn't picked up any of my band's scores or band member's and friend's solo scores either for songs played since the patch.

I was talking to Gothic, and this is what we came up with..
She says it seems like the leaderboards were just not even created for some of these new songs. They just don't exist. It's not that they are not updating.

The Band, Rock Band 3 Kids hit 1 billion points, then started glitching out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8dOgZ3Hhdo).
The game, hit 1,000 songs, then started glitching out.
And if you think about it, around late last year is when we hit that mark.

....
My theory is this.
Rock band 2 did not expect to reach this many songs.. OR Points.
So... it's the Y2K theory all over again. The programmers who made the game programmed 999,999,999 Points for a FB, and 999 possible songs.
When the game surpassed that, it became super glitchy and errors and all this stuff happened.

I do not think this would be fixable in Rock Band 2.

You would need to rewrite the game itself, which requires a whole new game disc. .. that's not going to happen.
Rock band 3 is set to come out sometime in 2010, and i think i remember seeing HERE at these forums, they are trying to release it in spring.
Which, if that is the case, they would not be attempting to fix these problems at all. They're busy working on the bugs and gameplay of Rock Band 3.

Be patient, guys. Harmonix most likley knows about these issues, and they have either decided to let them go, or they are working hard on them. Either way, we can't do too much about these problems ourselves.

Firstly, a bump because it is still not working. Or atleast it was not when I tried the other night.

This is soo wrong. No programmer would program for a bug to appear in that kind of range. Normally these bugs would be at the sizes of 8, 16, 32 and sometimes 64 bits. Since scores and number of songs would not be negative, the storage would be kept unsigned. So that makes the following values where a bug could happen...
8bit : 256
16bit : 65,536
32bit : 4,294,967,296
64bit : 18,446,744,073,709,551,616
These values are 1 number above the maximum the storage area can handle and would thus generate an error (if they are error trapping) or result in the number being returned as just a 1.
(Insert dorkish smiley face here)

Almost everything is fixable with a game patch. Why people seem to think that patching a game would require a new disc to be issued beats the hell out of me. Game executables are small!! It is the content that takes room, such as graphics and audio files. You can patch just the program without touching all the other content. With the exception to the Nintendo Wii which does not support game patching and would require a new disc.

However, this is more than likely a server side issue which could actually be related to RBN. Look at it this way, when the patch came out the leaderboards stopped and RBN features were (apparently) included in this patch. When RBN is released, then the scores may start working again. This is just a groundless suggestion, so take with a pinch of whatever condiment you prefer.
