View Full Version : Ion Drum Rocker problem.

Let me start off by saying that my drums have worked flawlessly for about 9 months, so in case you're still debating whether to buy the ions or not, just disregard this problem as it might only happen after having used the drums for a long time (and even then it might not).

So now, on to the actual problem.

As of lately, my red and blue pads have been occasionally triggering my yellow pad (as in, crosstalk).
When this happens, I often (9 out of 10 times I guess) see a black 'zap' or something on the TV screen, and then my precious combo disappears :(.

My pads and their clamps are not positioned extremely close to eachother or anything, so I doubt that's what's causing it.

A second solution I've heard about is that it might be the roadie pedal causing the problem. So I unplugged my pedal, played 29 fingers (you know, that song that only has blue and red notes), and it still happened.

Another thing I've been hearing is that it might be static electricity.
This seemed like a pretty obvious cause of my problem, seeing as it's cold outside, loads of dry air and stuff, but when I tried to ground my drum kit, it still did not work (I'm not entirely sure I'm doing it correctly, because I'm not really an expert when it comes to technical stuff like this).

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D
