Like most VH1 lists, I think this is complete BULLCRAP. SLTS may have been the most overplayed, but not the best. Creep should've been in the top ten, and Under the Bridge should've been in the top 3. What do you think?

I partially agree that both songs you mentioned were great songs but you're talking about an overall look at the 90s and including all genres. They're list is probably based on overall sales as well as call in votes for their countdowns. Songs that we would tend to rate higher are not generally main stream stuff. I do agree that SLTS was played entirely too much, but it was quite popular even if it wasn't my fav.

Alot of the one-hit wonders in the beginning, but it got better towards the end. Wish No Doubt was on there though.

The fact that The New Radicals charted and there's no sign of No Doubt, Stone Temple Pilots, or Toad the Wet Sprocket on there should tell you their impressions of the 90s are a bit off. That being said, there are a lot of great songs on there (and a lot of Rock Band songs...)

This list reminds me of how bad the 90's sucked.

STP's Plush or Vasoline should've been top twenty, Sex and Candy should've been higher.

Sex and Candy might make a good Rock Band song.

Well, Durr dude, what did you expect from a VH1 list? Besides, most people know that lists are bullcrap. I bet you that if every person on this forum were to make a "greatest songs from the 90s" list, no two lists would be the same, hell their top tens wouldn't even be similar.

This list completely neglects The Division Bell by Pink Floyd (released in '94) and Radiohead music that is better than Creep.

No Smashing Pumpkins either... their list is made of lose and fail

I think people are thinking about this in the wrong way. I watched this on tv, and it doesn't seem like it's so much about how great the music actually is, but more like "what got played the most".

This list was more like "The 100 Most Overplayed Songs in the 90's". It was part that, and also what songs/bands actually appealed to Pop Culture. You don't see Smashing Pumpkins or RATM, because they weren't bands that appealed to people who didn't listen to Rock. This list is just radio hits mostly.

You can have the greatest Rock songs of all time, but they won't show up on that list because it wasn't great enough to the general music audience.

The 80's list was better, no one would have predicted its #1.

Hey - couldn't agree more about adding Fastball to the list!! They are still going strong!! The FASTBALL show at the Rocks Off Boat Cruise is going to be a hot one! The show takes place May, 31 2008 in New York, New York. Opening for Eve 6 is The Energy out of NYC. If you have not seen The Energy yet, they ROCK live. It should be a killer show!!

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

I'm so sick of saying 90's, then everybody immediately thinks late 90's pop and Nirvana was the only music. They missed out on good Smashing Pumpkins, good No Doubt, Four Non-Blondes, Soul Asylum, Live, Collective Soul, and so many others.

I wish that that list allowed artists to have multiple songs on there. This is just a popularity contest when they have made much better songs than those.
