Which alternative guitar?

I was given the game only version of GHIII for the winter solstice holiday break, and I have a gift card I can use to combine to buy another guitar in order to play it. Knowing that the strat will not work for GHIII but the xplorer or les paul will work as a bass/guitar for RB, does anyone have an opinion on which is better?

Return game, get the pack with the les paul -
or, use gift card for xplorer standalone?

in my opinion, the les paul is better. the xplorer has a weird feel to it, and i suck when i use it. when i use the les paul though i'm good. welcome to the forums by the way. hope you enjoy the game.

Thank you, had the game since 11/20 and immensly enjoying it. Can't wait to figure out the next project, gum rubber for the drum kit.

Other opinions welcome but i think this is how i'm going to go.

i've had my game for a while too. and i've been enjoying it on my friends 360. but tonight i'm getting my xbox, and i'm gonna play it till next year, then play it some more.

I'd definetely say the les paul. The buttons are back to the old GH style feel, not so small and bunched up, and it's wireless which is cool.
