The problem with that argument though is in order for it to be accurate you have to take all films into account and compare that against the current race ratios in the U.S.

There are a lot of films released with strong African American leads (Such as the upcoming Book of Eli)
So I don’t think you can say it’s disproportionate. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if when you factored in all minorities there was a higher percentage of films that feature that demographic as leads.

All you have to do is find some aspect of whatever movie, song, book, etc, that could be taken out of context to back up your theory. And if that doesn't work, you can always just make something up that isn't there and some people will probably still jump to your side and defend your point.

For example, it's just as easy to call the movie sexist because the hero is not a woman, or spaghettist because the hero is not an anthropomorphic pot of noodles.
