Is there a list posted somewhere of the upcoming DLC?

Still on the horizon is Who's Next, Nevermind, Grateful Dead (18 songs), A New Metallica Single and Sean said he'll be back sometime this week to announce what's coming next week and maybe the weeks to follow.

Will the info be put on the main rockband.com page under news once they get it all figured out?

Usually in the Announcement forum.

There is also a list on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band). Just don't trust anything without a source.

Hopefully like this week, they will post on Monday in the announcement forum what the weeks DLC will be.
I really want Nevermind and other albums to come out ASAP

Somebody decided that rather than post a monthly schedule, they'd go to announcing it on Mondays. You, know, to build excitement and all.......

Yeah.....
If I'm correct, you're the person who complained about the "lack" of DLC for Rock Band. If you are, then you have no right to give any opinion on DLC, because you are ungrateful.
If I am mistaking you for someone else, then I am truly sorry.

i like knowing whats coming ahead of time, even if it is announcing the next week's dlc on a friday. seems kinda pointless to me to reveal just what will be available in less than 24 hours.

Yeah I want another ridiculously long schedule of the future DLC
That way I can be dissapointed or happy about it sooner XD lol

You have indeed mistaken me for someone else! I have lots of DLC and would like lots more. Maybe they'll announce all of January on Monday and that would be fine.....
(And I'll find out ahead of time if a bunch of emo crap will be released and then I can go away for a month. :) )

I would like that.
I'm one of the guys that would like to know ahead of time. Monday was really cutting it close, because I was barely able to go out and find a store with a microsoft points card.
If they announce it on a friday. I can know ahead of time. Pick up a points card on the weekend if I'm a little short or don't have any at all and get some glorious rock band when I get off of work tuesday.
Because, its gonna be a real kick in the nuts for me, when I have exactly 440 points for a song pack, and they release an Album or something.

Because we are impatient. Also because we all have this huge list of music we are just waiting for, and to actually see that it's coming would indeed make our day.
But I don't mind surprises like the one on Christmas. I was starting to worry this was "classic" rock band, with a couple of groups like Metallica for the fun of it. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with our current selection, just really really want more of the newer stuff (and rock stuff from the 80's & 90's). Stuff everyone knows. Stuff my wife would actually get a kick to sing, with the last round of DLC on 12/25 that made a good start. But to answer the question on getting DLC release dates.
Its probably being done for a few reasons. One if they don't get a song done or there is a complication, they don't have to explain it to anyone. Second if we knew what was coming, those that weren't happy would make their voices heard. If everyone knew what was truly coming, that could sway their choice in buying this game. I love GnR and I trust it will get here, but if I knew it would never come, I dunno man, plus everyone is starting to jones for fun Karaoke songs. They are getting burnt on what we currently have, they don't mind it but were missing some fun stuff still. If I saw it would never get here, and I could only look forward to the likes of David Bowie or The Who I would have had a hard time buying it. (both artists there are great, just not my flavor of Koolaid)
My 2 cents.

The idea of a suprise each week is the way to go.. People complaining that they need a list of upcoming DLC.. Its like knowing about a present before you open it.. It makes it 10X more exciting when you fire up the 360 on a tuesday and find out they just released some epic song youve been dying for.
Although there will be the tuesday when we get a Fall out Boy 3pack and I think I will be the only one happy with it.

Both budgeting and planning.
Rock Band is a group activity. If I know that, for example, on the 23rd a Jethro Tull track will be hitting, I send email to my friends and co-workers to say on the 24th we'll be playing that at lunch time, and people who are into Jethro Tull can show up. The turnout when I got the Black Sabbath pack was pretty strong. But people need to know ahead of time, before they make other commitments.

But you'd get the same sort of commitment if you schedule your session to happen on Wednesday or Thursday, right? Or, just set up a default "Rock Band Day" like we've done that's a couple days off from the release day of the new DLC. We have a Thursday night Rock Band session that works perfectly.
No one really has to play it on the day it releases. It's just that we all want the new shiny thing as quickly as possible (myself included). I work in the game industry, and I see lots of good business reasons for Harmonix to wait until right before the DLC's available to announce it.
The only other reason I saw with some merit was the cash situation, but at this stage of the game, you don't have to think week to week. I always keep about 1000 MS points on my account so even if I was short on cash, I'd be able to download a couple weeks' worth of content. You know there will eventually be content you'll want, so you shouldn't have to wait to check to see if you'll need to run out and buy a points card - just put some points on there and refill it as you use it.

i have a feeling if they did that it would turn into a situation similar to guitar hero's DLC, where nobody really even cares about the DLC because nobody knows what it is anyways, so they aren't even excited about it by the time it's released..
not to mention, if you get two week's worth of DLC that doesnt interest you at all, but the 3rd week there's something that you would've really been looking forward to, don't you think after 2 weeks of crap, some people would've just lost interest in the DLC? having a list of upcoming content is smart in my opinion..

i wont ever be surprised firing up my ps3 since you guys will have had it two days earlier :)
i think having a list of whats coming gets you psyched and looking forward to what's to come. it's like how we were dying to see the tracklist before the game was released. plus you can learn lyrics and drum patterns ahead of time.
of course if you see the list and there's nothing you like you will be extremely disappointed, but i trust harmonix will never fail us. :)

We have "Rock Band Day" every day at my office. I pull it out during our lunch hour every day. But if I let people know something new is coming, people who don't normally make it every day can sometimes schedule a trip to our building for lunch. The more warning I can give, the better.

I dont think that is it at all. GH DLC has gone into a nobody cares mode since we have no idea when or if they are releasing any. They seem to be just random with no schedule. Atleast according to Harmonix we are receiving at least a song a week. As long as I know I am being taken care of each week I will be lining up to the feeder every tuesday.

I agree that it is better when they tell us what's coming. It isn't real easy to check on the XBox so I'm just as likely to forget all about it if I'm not expecting it.

Right. When I buy something I have to first think to myself "what's on the way?". Right now I'm saving points for Who's Next and Nevermind, I need a schedule to know if I can blow my load on the songs that are in the "maybe" pile or if I should just wait it out.

Being told in advance is also good for songs people have not heard so there's time to look them up. Also personally if I'm dissapointed in that weeks I'd be more likely to go back and buy something I wasn't sure I wanted before. Like this week I bought Fortuante Son because I didn't want any of the new stuff.

Well, my two cents is, there's too much DLC. Too much too soon.
Remember when it first came out? They should've released those packs/singles weekly instead of one huge splooge like that. Lots of people couldn't get the game. Why release downloads for a game not many people could get? There's a possibility that the DLC will dry up and stop by next year. DLC should've started in early January, when the shortage would stop. And not all the downloads should be songs. New venues and customization options and patches would be cool.

DLC drying up? That is crazy talk really..what in the WORLD would cause that to happen? There are plenty of ppl who have been playing the game SINCE its been out. WHY in the WORLD would you want to wait on dlc? If they, and if they ever plan to do that I would put them in the same box with Activision and the rare appearance dlc makes with them.
I DO agree that new venues and things like hair and clothes would be cool, but music is the main thing, after all it is a music game.
I think the current release schedule is perfect, something new every week and we KNOW that for fact. I don't like left wondering when and if new songs will appear.
That is NOT a good thing.

I never said I wanted it to be like Activision. I'd like it to be weekly. But they could've waited till a little later to release it to license more songs so there'll never be a break in DLC.

Until that happens, I think starting it on day one was a great idea.

Fortunate Son is a cover? Man, I never noticed. Shows you my opinion of it ;)
In my defence, every time I've played it someone was yelling the vocals. One time, that was even me.
The Sabbath ones aren't too bad, though I prefer the GH2 version of War Pigs. I think a glaringly bad cover is Tom Sawyer. Man, those vocals

Budgeting of course, but it's also nice to know ahead of time so that we can be assured that HMX is keeping their promise.
And it will help for people who haven't bought RB yet, if they can see what kinds of songs to expect in the near future it may persuade to pick up the game sooner

I'd like to see them announce a month's worth each time for a very simple reason:
HMX announces 27 DLC songs from a broad variety of genres; forums have only a few complaints about content.
HMX announces 5 DLC songs from only 2-3 genres; forums go insane with complaints.

has anything for this week been announced yet? I can't find anything on the forums and I don't go onto xbox live all the time, mostly due to the fact that I'm still debating on how I'm going to hook my 360 up without moving it out of the living room, i don't want to buy the 100 dollar wireless adaptor. Anybody know where I can get an ethernet cord that's 50 feet or so?

I run my ethernet to my XBox 360 through 50 feet of cable I bought at Best Buy for pretty cheap (around $20 I think).
