Hello everybody,

I recently received rock band as a christmas present. Upon playing the drums (on hard/expert) I find that when hitting rapid 16th note progressions, the pad registers either none at all, or one or two sporatically placed in rhythm. This occurs mostly on the green and red pads, or the snare drums, and doesn't really apply with the yellow or green. I've played on my friends sets and they seemed to have the same problem, so i'm guessing this is a well known problem. I couldn't find any threads on it, so I made this one.

Anyone know what I can do? I would like to avoid sending the drums back, but if I have to, then I will.

The issue with your search is the search engine for the site blows, with short words like "pad" and "roll" you get no results.

This is extremely common, if you page through the tech board you will see it all over. There are a couple of fixes, the most common that doesn't void your warranty is taping the pads down that are giving you problems reducing the gap between pad and base to maybe 1/8-1/4" or so.

I'm having this same problem with the replacement drum pads I received (the yellow pad on the first one broke). On the new set, the easier songs are fine and the pads will register just fine. But on songs where there are faster rolls, the pads (mainly the red) will only register every other note or so. Which means I end up failing songs like Run to the Hills. My previous set did not have this problem, but now I'm afraid to do another replacement since others have been reporting this as well.

It's disappointing to know that I'll never be able to get a good percentage on these faster songs simply because the pads won't register the faster notes.
