Just wanna ask if anyone has "modified" their RB1 drum pads? Theres a plastic ring around each pad thats very easy to hit every time with the drum stick, making an unrealistic plastic sound. Very irritating when playing with others beacuse this plastic noise can be very loud. Anyone got an idea of any modification to get rid of it hehe ? :)

You could try finding some neoprene, foam or felt and covering the whole drum pad, including the plastic ring. This should change the sound of the hits on the rim.
I'm not sure how long it will stay glued in place and adding thickness to the edge may make it easier to hit it.

Odds are that if you're often hitting the plastic rim, one of two things is wrong: Either your drums are too high, or your seat is too low. Try adjust one of those two things and you'll probably have some better luck with it.

Even better solution!

well, wouldnt say this is true ... im hitting the pad with the top of the stick, but when hitting the pad, the lower end of the stick also get in contact with the plastic ring because the ring around is some milimeters higher than the pad, making it almost impossible to avoid hitting it.
The GH drums doesnt have "this higher" ring so theres no problem, i tried them.
Thinking of some sort of solution to make the rings not being that noisy ...

I think if you try davidsheks solution, you'll change the angle the stick hits the pad with. Thus missing the plastic ring.

Right, I'm not talking huge changes here. Maybe an inch.
