Building smarter cities... With computers controlling traffic lights and cameras watching our every move. Sharing data to create intelligence in order to better predict patterns. Sounds like they are building Skynet. Thoughts? :)

Yeah, it's all pretty much out of Asimov, allowing decision-makers the ability to collaborate and analyze data in real time and centralize information dissemination.
Logical conclusion of such a move would be something out of Gene Roddenberry's science fiction in the best case scenario and something out of Terry Gilliam's "Brazil" at worst.

Oh, good I was starting to think you guys were no fun. :) I recently watched Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles. Anyways. In one of the episodes, they implied, Skynet started as a program to control traffic lights. Then as the program became a hit, it expanded, and then it became self-aware. :D
