So I had duty on Christmas Day. For those that's don't know, I'm in the Navy. And having duty means I stay on the ship all day to keep it safe from fire/flooding/Osama. So I decided to bring Rock Band and set it up on a big screen and let other people stuck on the ship play make believe rock star. And do I mean a big screen. Didn't measure, but just guessing I'd say the image was about 8 feet tall on the sides.

The area was a little crowded, but I had USB extenders for the Strat and Mic to add extra range, and the back of the room (which you can't really see) was pretty open. But people just stood on the oil cans on the left and I kept jumping off the elliptical machine on the right while singing. The rocking commenced from noon to 1am.

On a side note, the Microsoft DRM stuff sucks.

Hey man that is totally AWESOME!! I know being on a ship can be boring sometimes, but thank you for giving your life and time to protect me and our country!!!

I love it!

I have a plan to get a projector to do this at my house--so we can face our friends while we play instead of everyone behind us. And so we can play outside on our deck on summer nights!

Yeah. Usually they set this stuff up on the outside of the ship. Makes the image about three times as tall. But alas, as anyone in Washington knows, it's cold as hell in the winter and usually raining. Didn't feel like setting up a tent to play under, so we just played in the Helo Hanger.

nice. FORD or DAVIS? im the IS1 on MOMSEN. i had duty on the 23rd and we started after turnover at 0700. i had the first watch and came back at noon. we finished at 130. it was epic. my voice is still effed because nobody else could sing above medium. we went from 300+ stars to almost 1000. haha. by buddy put his foot straight through my pedal. luckily another guy brought his set in as well. i have duty today and did not bring it in just so i could actually get some work done. we are in 3 sections for stand down. how bout you?

Dude, awesome. I saw the pictures before I looked at what you typed and the first thing I noticed was that door. All I thought was 'Do you live in a submarine or something.'
