Well, the whammy bar broke, specifically.
Lately I've been noticing that my whammy bar has been drooping, just like the old X-plorer's used to.
I thought to myself, "Self, you oughta crack open the guitar to see if there's a way to tighten the whammy so it doesn't sag."
And then SNAP! The spring on the whammy bar broke as well. So now, not only does my whammy way droop like an impotent old geezer, but it doesn't even spring back and forth.
I reeeally don't want to send this guitar back, since I finally got a strum bar that works. I could open the guitar and replace the broken spring with a rubber band, but that'll eventually dry out and break as well.
Anybody have any ideas what would work in place of the spring?
