View Full Version : Solo BWT crippled by design decisions

Is anybody else bummed that you can't select (much less unlock all of) a certain venue to play certain songs in quick play? I think it's a huge mistake to force players who forked over the cash for this game to not be able to access everything unless multiple people are present at your house, on top of having to play a higher difficulty to gain entry to the upper echelon venues because of the fan cap. I've read that there are at least 10 venues you can't play in unless you are playing at hard or expert levels, with other people playing with you, which is absolutely ridiculous. Harmonix, this seems like an easy fix, please figure out a way to let us play solo BWT with the full experience multiplayer BWT gives you without the stupid mandatory difficulty hike. This is a horrible design decision and really cripples the game for a lot of people.

i honestly dont even notice much of the venue details. maybe i suck at this game, but im usually focused on the words/note charts.

I understand what you're saying. It's really just seems to me that if you drop $170 bucks on a game and you want to be able to see everything the game offers on the difficulty you choose, you should be able to.

No. It's one more button I don't have to hit before I can play my game.

Yeah, I agree with you. There's a bunch of stuff that they screwed up with Solo BWT - There have been more than a few threads complaining about it, and there are a lot of people who are upset.

Hopefully they'll fix some of it in the future.

I dunno, I think it all comes together pretty damn well.

I just finished the basic BWT last night. My bro plays hard or expert guitar and I play medium or hard drums. My bro got through most of it alright and so did I, besides 2 or 3 songs i struggled with on hard drums. But 80% of the songs i played i was on medium, i dunno why ppl keep complaining u have to be an expert to finish BWT.

Sure, there's some things that I'd want to change about Rock Band, but seriously guys, this is the best thing out there. The pros vastly outnumber the cons in this game. If I may quote the Rolling Stones, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need". I think that applies greatly here.

Nah, I really don't care. I simply look at it as a bonus for having people over to play with. The game is pretty deep enough that it is really no big deal.

It's not as bad as having to unlock songs in multiplayer.

And the people who paid $60 for the stand-alone version should also get that choice, I guess? Or should that version be crippled in this regard?

This is the most ridiculous argument I've seen.

If I was you, I wouldn't of got the game if I knew I would have trouble getting band together.

you do have to be on at least hard to beat BWT past 250,000 fans.
