How do you erase a character?

Does anyone know how to erase a character that was created? My family created a few characters that I want to erase so they don't take up memory. We have the PS3 version, if it matters.

go to options and there should be a memory selection from there and you can go to your characters and delete them i had to for one that my nephew made.
