But, if EA and their staff can hang in through all the b*tching and resolve the issues over the next few months, they'll have a winner on their hands.
I'm the mom of five - three of which are teenage girls. While other games promote competition, this one promotes teamwork - my 13, 14, and 15 year olds were desperate to 'save' each other -- The same kids who go toe to toe about who used who's shampoo! And, it brings out the inner 'ham' in everyone - older siblings and even parents and grandparents.
While our PS3 guitar strum bar broke about three hours in, I am hopeful that these issues will get resolved, over time, and individual replacement instruments/compatibility patches made available. I've heard the replacements are better from folks around here. So, I've sent off for my replacement and look forward the girls (and, us old duffers) rockin' out again, soon.
I'm just an ex-IT Manager/mom, but it has been my experience that the world is growing increasingly impatient, especially in the US, and it's not a good thing. It makes people who are trying to deliver a product burn-out and, sometimes, give up. So, can we just try to cut these folks some slack, give them some time to work out the kinks, and everyone will, hopefully, wind up happy without someone having a 'stroke' over a video game.
Peace
