I'd have to go with hitler.
There is solid proof that he exists.

i just had a three hour argument about it with someone. They just couldnt accept the fact that the devil was more evil.
Im not doing this to prove a point, I just want to continue to vent about it because they refused to argue about it anymore.

The idea of the Devil is more evil, however the whole being of Hitler is comparable to that.

Okay this is assuming that the devil exsists. And the person I was arguing with agreed to this condition too.
And not to step on any toes, but by that logic, couldnt Bill Gates be considered better than God.

Why does it have to be a compitition? Why can't the devil and Hitler be equal in evilosity?
But, just to stir things up, going by Milton’s Paradise Lost, the Devil was really only guilty of idolatry. (Which caused the Felix Culpa and the war of the heavens)
Where as Hitler’s motivation was hate. It’s not a strong argument but I gave it a shot.

I have never heard of Godwin's law before but I looked it up and that is hilarious. Very good observation. For the sake of arguing, can anyone seriously take up the side that says that the Devil isnt real therefore he isnt as evil.

How do you know Hitler isn't real and the Devil just made him up to take the heat off?

How about mass genocide has existed before Hitler and has existed since he has died. Why would you call Hitler any more evil than any other government official who has ordered the killing of others because of beliefs or skin tone. There are tons of leaders who have been doing the same thing but the world did not want to get involved. Hitler is considered more evil because people took ther time to stop him where as plenty of these occerences are over looked. Hitler evil? Yes but there are plenty of instances that you should learn about before you start making judgements about who is more evil than whom.

So a rebel who got thrown out of his crib for refusing to acknowledge the little people vs. a bitter artist who ruined Charlie Chaplin's mustache for the rest of us?

Let me tell you about another group of people who were just following orders! Tobacco company's! They kill way more people than Hitler and make people pay for the right to do so! Joe Camel indeed!

But you over look the fact smoking looks cool. Nazi's don't. Unless you count those cool long black leather jackets. Or those hats.
Ok, maybe they had fashion sense.
Is that bannable, saying nazi's had fashion sense?

I love how much hate Hitler gets, when the atrocities committed by Stalin or the Japanese during their occupation of China are far worse and generally overlooked by the average citizen. That's not to say what he did wasn't horrible, it's just that he's not the greatest mass murderer of all time. Maybe the most efficient, but I'm not going to debate that.

Hitler was such an ass he's even got his own logical fallacy. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hitlerum)
Plus he isn't imaginary, but that's another chestnut.

The Devil.
Hitler raised a poor battered nation, and raised it's spirits from oppression.
Of course, it came with the price of the holocaust and a deadly war, but that was one good deed he did. (The raising of German nationality I mean, not the holocaust and such.)
Should be Stalin against the Devil.

A devil is only evil depending on which language you speak. The origin of the Latin term "devil" is the Sanskrit word for the female aspect of the Hindu deities. In various legends, tales of warfare between Hindus and other tribes in ancient times became changed over time to wars between the respective gods of each side, resulting in a "Devi" usually being the opposing force to whichever western deity applied.
Somewhat humorous I think that for one group, it's the stabilizing feminine aspect of the divine, but in another it's a goatee'd, cloven-hooved, pitchfork-wielding symbol of evil.
