How can I backup DLC songs?

Last year we bought a new xbox and hard drive and though it took some time, we were able to successfully transfer all the DLC to the new hard drive and apparently we will be able to do so again, but my question is, what if the hard drive were to completely fail? How can I backup the songs we have purchased so we could download them onto a new hard drive? Just trying to be prepared, we use this xbox a lot and expect it to die eventually.

I'm not sure how to back up dlc with an XBox, but there is a history of all your downloads in the Marketplace. If you get a new XBox, transfer your license to the new one and start downloading.

Yeah you can't backup your DLC.

However there is a download history as stated, and if you need to get a new hard drive, just recover your gamertag(the one that bought the DLC), and you can download all the DLC again free of charge.

Think of it as an online backup of your DLC ;)
