I suck at Photoshop...

So, as of recently [but not too recently] my band introduced two new members, and you are probably wondering, "WTF does this have to do with you sucking at photoshop??" Well... I feel that since we have new members, its tim for a bit of a change.. So, i began making a new band logo for us.. [The old one, i still love a lot, but i feel like we need a newer one, to match with the whole Nu-cardia thing we have been joking about as of late.]

So, long story short, i made a rough draft on how I would want it to look...

So what do you marvelous photoshoppers say? If you have some spare time on your hands could you try it out? :p

I guess it isn't terrible, but it is no where near the same quality our old one is... The old one looks beautiful [and it was made by Nuff_Said, btw :p]

On topic; you probably shouldn't just leech pictures of Cthulu (sp?) off the internet. Copyright infringement can be a fickle wh***. Try to find a friend, or a friend of a friend, who has a bit of artistic skills and get them to draft you a picture for the creature.

I can try to do one for you, but i won't lie, the monster picture will just be something that I find on the internet.

That's pretty cool, but the name should probably less prominent and not so in-your-face.

This is what i mustered up. Keep in mind though that the base picture isn't mine, so i'd have to contact the guy who originally did it to ask for permission for you to use it "officially".

here's what i had worked on for the first eitraður taugaveiklun LP, but i abandoned it after the guy who was going to put it out killed his record label and i don't think the material is suited for anything but vinyl.

I also think in ash tray picture that the grit and stuff in the ash tray should be more visible.

the original background was from a series of burned house drawings that i did...
i took photographs of the drawings, scanned them, and then used photoshop to make it even more "sketchy".
of course this was done several years ago, so i kinda hate it now.

as for the ashtray pic, i did want the gunk more prominent but remember the title of this thread!

Although H.P. Lovecraft's characters appear to be public domain, it's illegal to use someone else's art, even in a mockup, without their permission.

However, many people's avatars on this forum are also used without permission.

This is apparently the youtube and Internet age, where people "find" things on the Web on reuse them for their own purpose without permission. I'm starting to accept it.

This appears to be more of an emblem than a logo, if you hire it out. You might check out crowdSPRING or DesignCrowd.
