By save I mean go back to the same one after switching from a male/female vocal song. No way to save the rest of the band either when reloading? Why couldn't we pick from the presets? Is it possible to patch it later so it can be done?

He means you can't pick your back ground band (in single player or <4 multiplayer), and it sucks.
