Personally I like the new band name a lot more than the old one. This might get moved to general, but I think it concerns everyone and should stay here where the most people will see it.

Due to freedom of speech laws, I seriously doubt this was the issue. There are bands out there with much worse names than Vagiant.

If I remember correctly, they mentioned in one of the podcast episodes that there's actually another band named Vagiant somewhere. That's why their second album/their website is under the name "VAGIANT Boston".

I guess adding "Boston" to the end of the name wasn't enough of a change to keep whoever is pressing charges happy.

I kinda like their old name a little bit more, but thankfully this title refers to a name change instead of a band end.

Not exactly my style of music, but I liked their song in Rock Band. It was such a unique type of "love song" and was so positive, something that is quite a rarity. It's all usually "oh baby u my girl baby" or "i cant believe that baby girl girl baby decided to leave me how dare she", with loads of sexual emphasis.

But not Seven!

Should totally be a 3 pack of their songs next week, because they deserve some more, and hey, what better time to do it than now.

Wow, thread subject is somewhat misleading - the insinuation is that they broke up. I'm glad to hear that's not the case.

Still prefer the old name - it speaks volumes and doesn't sound like it came from a random band name generator.

If what people are saying is true, it does sort of remind me how Bush (British band) had to be known as BushX in Canada until '97. Bush (Canadian band) was long defunct, but one of the former band members still held the Canadian rights to the name and legal headaches ensued.

Yeah, so I can't talk about the details at this time, but this whole situation blows. We miss the old name too, but oh well, no use crying over spilled vagina puns. We're just glad to have this whole thing done with, and as long as our fans stay loyal, we're happy.

Our band name will not change in GH2 or Rock Band 'cause that would require a patch. But anything going forward, yeah, it'll be Tijuana Sweetheart.

Can't say I can imagine Tijuana Sweetheart as the same kind of music as VAGIANT. Perhaps if the name of the band was Trash Candy, it would seem more appropriate. That's just my take though

Trash Candy was taken, I'm afraid.

In a way, we aren't making the same kind of music as we did with the old name. It's a completely different line-up than the first record, and I'm not a broke, bitter, subway rat dealing with an unrequited crush. We're still truculent jerks, though. So things haven't change all THAT much.
