I have RB2 for the Wii, and everything works fine. My friend also has RB2 for the Wii, but he has Guitar Hero instruments. So when I go over to his house, I take my guitar with me. Since it's what I'm used to, it's much easier for me to play. However, I cannot get my guitar to connect to his Wii. I've tried every combination I think of:
1. Trying to connect before and after the opening screen
2. Holding down the guitar button first
3. Holding down the button on the dongle first
4. Holding down the white button on the guitar first
5. Pressing and releasing each of the above instead of holding it down
etc.
No matter what I do, it just won't connect. The blue lights just continue to flash, and that's it. Sometimes it says that there are more than 4 controllers, so it "knows" there's another controller trying to connect. We press the "+" button on one of his remotes to disconnect it, but it makes no difference, the blue lights just keep flashing.
Anyone have any ideas? If so, please be specific about:
1. What screen I should be at
2. What buttons I press, in what order, and do I press and release or press and hold down
3. Anything else you can think of that might matter
Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is to have you take YOUR usb dongle with you
along with your guitar (since you know that your guitar & usb dongle
cooperate...) and plug your usb dongle into your friend's wii...
if that doesn't work, then I'm stumped. (no smirking, please.)
And, I wouldn't have any "extra" usb dongles plugged in...
just 2 guitar & 1 drum... no more.

Hmm. I don't know. I use a RB1 Strat and a GH3 Les Paul together all the time in RB2 without having any issues. Well, every now and then an issue, because I have 1 dead dongle and sometimes I grab it and plug it into the Wii, so I suppose there is that, but that's just because I keep forgetting to throw the dead one out. lol
Also, the RB equipment shouldn't work with the Wii until RB2 is already loaded. The reason being is it is not standard equipment, and so the software has to load first before the console knows how to use it. The controller may still sync, but it shouldn't work the Wii Menu like the GH equipment does (since the Wiimote connects to the GH equipment). So I would be trying after the game has loaded.
