Green Day won best Rock Album. That shows you how much of a joke the Grammys are.

What's there to discuss? A grammy is worth about as much as my soccer trophy from when I was 7

Green Day won best Rock Album. That shows you how much of a joke the Grammys are.It was going up against:
Black Ice - AC/DC
Live from Madison Square Garden - Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood
Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King - Dave Matthews Band
No Line on the Horizon - U2
I'm not surprised it won.

I'd take AC/DC's latest batch of interchangeable RAWK songs over anything Green Day has ever done

In this case, yes, I'd say that this is a more award worthy album than freaking U2.

Yes. Retreads or not, it's Clapton and Winwood. And high chart position does not equal quality.

Yes. Retreads or not, it's Clapton and Winwood. And high chart position does not equal quality. It does hint at relevancy as an album though. Even on this site which has alot of people with diverse and very in depth music taste there is no reference to this album outside of the Grammy threads. Had you even heard of this album before you read the nominations?

as far as i know he wasn't up for any grammy's tonight, but i could be wrong since i also didn't know the ceremonies were being held last night.
health-wise, he's doing worse after a day or two of doing a lot better. i think the roommate may take him to the vet today.

Silversun Pickups were the best band nominated for "best new band" but they aren't new so the Ting Tings should have won. Best Rock Album to Green Day is tragic but nothing else that was nominated was that impressive either so for my money the whole category is a wash. Best Metal Performance should definitely have gone to Slayer or Megadeth, I love Judas Priest but giving the award to a live performance of an old song rather than a band that actually put out new material last year is pretty much BS in my opinion. Other than those three I have very little to say since the Grammy's suck except to say that Imogen Heap should have won Best Pop Instrumental Performance cause Imogen Heap is awesome.

the only thing that was mediocre from the grammys was Lady Gaga's performance with Elton John..... and that was about it
I also raged when they called Green Day "punk"
and Taylor Swift can't sing live
after miss Swift tried her high note for the 6th time I gave up, It wasn't as bad as the VMA's though!

nah, I am proud to say I am a Gaga fan, which maybe why I turned it on (granted I should have turned it off but Colbert was mildly amusing)
Green Day's preformance was way too over the top for a song that isn't even that good
I forgot about the Jamie Foxx preformance (I was trying to block it out) but that was atroucious
and thank god I didn't see Eminem with Lil' Wayne and Travis, I might not be typing this right now

The rap trio thing was pretty awesome. The only thing bad about it was that CBS kept trying to mute the damn thing as a way of censoring it.

The best performance IMO was the Les Paul tribute with Jeff Beck and that throwback singer. The rap trio was pretty good, and I love Beyonce's voice, so I enjoyed her performance. Pink was decent also. Everything else was forgettable.

That's what he says in the beginning, which means "put your hand up" (yes one hand). And then he sings about how he's the most beautiful, tender and shortest boy for the whole song.
