I honestly believe something horrible has happened with the production line for these guitars. Overall, it's a better design than the GH3 guitar. More options, feels better, and looks better. I received Rock Band about 3 days before Christmas. Everything was working fine until Christmas day. I started up a song like I usually do, then all hell broke loose. Not a single not hit on up strum or down strum. I had to actually violently wiggle the strummer up and down to get it to register a single note. By then, I had lost so many points that the song was over. After I brutally wiggled it, it worked fine...for about 10 minutes. Then the strummer stopped working again. I have to jolt it violently between songs to keep it working.
Today, it started to double strum. Whether it was an up strum, or a down strum, my bonus multiplier wouldn't go higher than 1x. Every note was strummed twice. A little wiggling might fix it...nope. I know for sure that my guitar is one of the magnetic strummers due to the fact that it's extremely quiet. The fret buttons work wonderfully, as well as the whammy bar. It's just the strummer.
I'm afraid to get a replacement. I've read the posts here and was very dissapointed in what I saw. Not only is the shipping unreliable (It is the holidays, I understand that), but people are giving reports of faulty guitars arriving in the mail. I'd really like to play the game the way it was meant to be played. It's a phenomenal game with a great soundtrack. The new guitar design is beyond belief. But all these complaints about the strummer messing up is a bit unsettling.
