Weird customisation controller Problem

Hey guys!
First of all, thank you Harmonix for those great games!
but, guess what, i've got a problem!
I've been playing RockBand 1 on ps3 with the GH WT guitar controller and everything was fine but now that i've got Rockband 2 i can't use my gamepad during customisation! And so, it's a living hell to make logos, tatoos and so on...
I've tried changing port numbers, to plug the usb hub on the second usb port... nothing is working!
Any ideas?

That's (unfortunately) intentional. When you're doing instrument specific things, you can only do it with that instrument controller.

That's... a weird move... I mean, you can even see the D-pad symbol on the left side!
But if i plug a mic, will it work?

Nope. A Mic and controller will only let you customize your singer.

Remember that Rock Band guitars HAVE a d-pad.

My Peak Starplex doesn't have ANY left/right ability, so if I want to do any modding to my guitarist, I need to use my RB1 Strat.
