What is the very first album you bought/received/stole?
I am VERY ashamed to admit that the first album I received was N*Sync - No Strings Attatched.
First one I bought with my money: All The Pain Money Can Buy - Fastball. It's now my all-time Favorite album.
First album I stole: Steal This Album - SOAD. Not kidding. I was in Wal-Mart with my mom. I saw this album, picked it up, and we left the store. Surprisingly, the alarm didn't go off. 0_o

I'm almost positive that the first album I bought was Millennium by the Backstreet Boys (it might of been the one before that)
then I traded burnt discs of scene band with my friends during middle school (From First To Last EP's, Silverstien EP's)
then about Sophmore year of high school I stopped CD's entirely, and um... digitally obtained albums that I wanted to check out

Kiss - Hotter than Hell. My second was Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell. If there were other albums in the 70's with the word Hell in them, I likely owned that as well. I got it at K-mart. That's all I remember, it was a long time ago people.

I kind of took on possession of my mom's Queen : Greatest Hits, Meatloaf Bat Out of Hell, and her boyfriend of the time's Appetite for Destruction.
Around age seven, I inherited my uncle's LP collection, including all the Zeppelins, Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and other stuff in the Hard Rock/Early Metal zone.
The first CD's I bought (at the same time) ere "Naveed" and "ClumsY" by Our Lady Peace, which are still pretty high ranking in my favorites (Unfortunately, the band went on a nose dive after those two)

Michael Jackson was a pop artist, and one of his is the best-selling album of all time. Being a non-rock band doesn't make your album cease to be an album.

Before I bought it I had only really listened to pop music on the radio (no rock radio where I live), and when Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) became really popular it caught my attention. Nothing shameful about liking a group that just happened to specialize in Eurodance but actually wrote their own songs, did their own production, and even cared about their art long after the spotlight had faded. If you haven't yet, check out their second album, The Bridge, some time. It is easily one of the best pop albums of the '90s, in my humble opinion.

Nothing shameful about liking a group that just happened to specialize in Eurodance but actually wrote their own songs, did their own production, and even cared about their art long after the spotlight had faded. If you haven't yet, check out their second album, The Bridge, some time. It is easily one of the best pop albums of the '90s, in my humble opinion.
ace of base had some good tunes.
god bless you all. I can look myself in the mirror again

at the time, maybe....in retrospect--let's be honest--no....though I strangely still find myself listening to "Happy Nation" occasionally.

I am being honest, and I still say listen to The Bridge if you haven't already. Songs like "Ravine," "Experience Pearls," "Wave Wet Sand," and "My Déjà Vu" are concrete proof you should never judge a band simply by what made the charts.

fair enough, though I never looked at the charts. was merely judging the album now based on my current orientation towards music, which does not have a soft spot at all for Eurodance.

I don't really purchase albums.
But I remember I asked my mom to buy me a Crazy Frog CD when I was like 8 or 9. After that I got some Green Day, Nickelback and Billy Talent CD's for some birthday's/Christmases.

First Album Given To Me:
- Stone Temple Pilot's "Core"
Received it from my Brother while I was recovering in the I.C.U.--
He pretty much owed it to me lol :D
First Album Purchased:
- Creed's "Human Clay"
For two years solid I listened to Human Clay
every school morning. The following summer I discovered
My Own Prison and fell in love with Creed all over again.
* I'm really shocked Creed isn't in Rock band yet! *
First Album Stolen:
- Dance Mix '95
Yeah I was young, stupid and into the Dance scene for
a good year when a "Frenemy" of mine happened to leave
this at my house. Looking back, I regret nothing! lol.
