Serious Problem

Okay today i went to play my drumset i was playing on medium so i didnt fail. But when i went to hard i noticed i was failing right away because my pedal wasnt kicking at all, then i tried to take it out and see how far i could get without it. then i realized that it might not be my pedal but everytime i hit yellow it kicks even when the pedal isnt connected now im at a lose and have no ideas at all what to try? pretty mad only had the set for about a week
