One of my RB drumsticks is pretty beat up on the tip, what are some good replacement options people have tried and like? Any options to make them quieter? I have the drum pad felt mod

I use 5A Zildajin (or however you spell it) nylon tipped sticks. Good solid feel. If your interested in reducing noise check out my drum pad mod in the sig.

I have a set of nylon tipped too my buddy got like 10 for $3 at a local guitar center.
Not sure about Das^ but mine say they are made of hickory and have a noticable difference in weight from the rock band ones.

Mine cost around 8 bucks at samash but I'm not sure of the wood. The handles have a tachy substance to increase grip which is nice.

I horrified my other drummer friends years ago when I bought, played with and declared the greatest pair of sticks I ever owned a pair of rubber handled graphite sticks. I **** you not, these things lasted no less than nine months of live shows before I ground a hole in them from constant rim-shots and cymbal hits.
They're heavy, very comfortable and will do absolutely nothing for your noise situation. If anything, they may even make the drum set noisier. But they'll never wear down from use with the game.
I will warn you, though. I went through drum heads like you wouldn't believe so it might not be good for beating on a piece of equipment that has proven to be a little flimsy.

I got a pair from my brother-in-law, they light up when you hit them against the drum pads. They are pretty freakin' cool. I don't know where he got them or how much they cost, but if you ever see them in a store, they are worth it.

Frankly, get the cheapest sticks you can from your local musical emporium. Different sticks are mostly of interest to real drummers for reasons that don't translate to Rock Band: they produce different types of sound and can have different levels of bounce, neither of which matter when you're playing on plastic pads with virtually no bounce that make an unexciting dull click when you hit them. :)
Plastic tipped, graphite, whatever sticks may last a bit longer, but they'll cost so much more that it really doesn't matter. Playing DrumMania I go through a pair of $3 sticks a month, but that's still better than going through a pair of $20 sticks every six months. And losing 'em costs less.
Weight can be a factor - if you're already a drummer you'll want to use sticks that match whatever weight you're used to - but if you're not, you may as well go for very light sticks (the RB sticks are *extremely* light, and so will be whatever cheap sticks you can buy at your local store), as they're a bit easier to control for most people. On a real kit, heavier sticks give you a different sound and some people prefer the bounce, but that's just not relevant to RB.

oh, yeah - if you want different grip from plain wood, get some cheap tennis racket grip tape. cheaper than fancy sticks and just as effective.

I use these, and they're great:

The foam core absorbs some of the impact shocks, which are great for striking pads of this design. They are also slightly heavier and more solid to wield.
