We all know that Nightmare samples from Wasted Years by Iron Maiden. But listen to the guitar solo in Nightmare. They changed it up a little, but you can clearly hear it: parts of the NIB solo! The solo in Nightmare sounds a lot like the solo in NIB by Black Sabbath. Listen to it and tell me what you think!

Yes it sounds very similar. But is it straight up copied? No, not at all.

according to copywright laws as long as you dont use an entire song your not stealing anything like lets say i wanted to put a metallica solo in one of my songs i can because its not the whole song

Wrong band to use for example, they'll sue for anything and get away with it lol.

You can only use music in that fashion if you re-record/re-produce it. Sure they may "take" the samples, but as long as they're redoing it and putting their own style, or minor variations, it's okay, I think. It just can't be exact.

But I don't believe you can seriously record a song, and take an entire Metallica solo and put it in there without having the rights. That doesn't make any sense, and it's complete infringement no matter what you say.

Kind of like the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Dani California" vs. Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance"

I dont see anything wrong with it as long as it isnt the exact same, and is only part of the song not the entire song
