I like this song, it's pretty fun on the drums (on Medium or Hard).
The only problem I have with it is that it's the ONLY song I can't pass on Expert guitar :(...

I've five starred it on hard. It's easy, as long as you don't go off-beat. It's just very long and repetitive.

Im not syaing i hate the song itself i just hate the rock band drums part... 10 minutes of pretty much teh same thing fast is a bit** to control especially with the kick drum.
Lemme put it this way it funny to listen to then to drum too :P.

LOL...this song is nothing. The beat isn't really that fast once you get used to it. Soon you'll forget all about Green Grass & High Tides...have fun with Run to the Hills. I'll be expecting your "ZOMG Run Up da Hill is the SUXZORZ!!!" thread in the near future. (BTW 5 starring Say it Ain't So isn't really anything to brag about...there's a reason it's the first song on the list ;))

Seriously, a baby could probably 5 star that song on hard. SIAS and Creep are probably the two easiest song for drums on hard/medium. Buddy Holly is pretty easy too.
I haven't tried this Green Grass and High Tides song yet. I think I did once in Online Band Mode and someone else failed it so we all failed cause we couldn't save him. I'll try it out here in a minute.

Thats what alot of drumming is, being able to keep a beat. Its a pretty easy song even on expert, you cant always be the one soloing, just suck it up and let the guitarist get some time in the spotlight ;)

I play guitar. Guitar IS fun just i'm starting to like drums and for a guirtarist in the on this song it would be harder but it would probably be funner. It take a little more skill to lay guitar than drums somtimes probably.

when i played through solo mode drums on medium i breezed through it until i got to green grass. i admit i had a hard time initially. even when i passed it i think i got 4 stars, but almost failed. after finishing solo on medium i started the solo mode all over again on hard. when i got to green grass i was preparing for the worst, but one the first try i five starred it. no joke. i dont know if there is a difference in the pattern that makes it easier to play on hard, or if my brain just adapted or what, but green grass was a breeze. then i got to dont fear the reaper. that crap gave me problems on hard. i had to play it for like 30 minutes before i could pass it. after that i was so relieved and i didnt want to frustrate myself further playing more hard stuff. i forget what song was next but i know i havent hit the run to the hills tier yet...
oh and say it aint so is ridiculously easy even on expert. there's only a few extra variations thrown in there. so yeah.

I had the same experience as AVC808. I had never played drums before and passed every song until GGHT on Med. When I got to it on hard i 5* it the first time. That beat becomes super easy with more experience.
A tip on Reaper on Hard. Save a full overdrive bar and use right before last solo section (duh) but play the double Blue & Bass and the snare and crash that follows and that will get you through until you get the timing down. That last section beat me down a bunch of times. Worse than RTTH on hard.

Can't say I hate GGaHT. I enjoy playing it on Hard - it is good for practicing my timing and rhythm (I'm not a out of game drummer) and I particularly like playing it online with an Expert guitarist. I can help out with some overdrive if needed on Solo 2. Admittedly, I enjoy playing a collaborative kind of game.
I'm personally stuck on the Hard versions of Don't Fear the Reaper (outro) and Cherub Rock (intro). Thanks for the tips for that!
I also have difficulty with songs with fast bass kick and snare/tom alternating patterns, eg. Reptilia. Any tips for working on this anyone? Just practise, practise, practise I guess.

this song is so easy on expert, sure, it's long but it is pretty easy as long asyou have the beat going and don't mess up

On the contrary, GG&HT is probably one of my favorite drum tracks... a brisk pace throughout and an endurance test for the stout of heart.

Parodygm - For the intro to Cherub. You just have to get the pattern. Its the same thing four times. I count it out loud when I am playing.

Where the blacks are the bass hits. I failed it the first 2 times and then practiced that intro. Once you get through that you'll finish the song.

i love the song...and its pretty easy on all levels...very long but very repetitive

You don't need to do very well on the intro to Cherub Rock anyway. I nerfed it up quite bad and wasn't close to dying.
I've always loved the song but didn't appreciate how awesome the drum part is until I played it in RB (the kick is a bit buried in the mix on the CD track). Jimmy kicks ass. I had so much fun playing the song.

I agree it's pretty much a test on your right foot and that's about it...I hate "Run to the Hills" more so just because I've never had my right hand burn so much then when I was in drumline...

don't get how anyone finds GGHT hard. I gold starred it on expert on my third try. OTOH I've tried Don't Fear The Reaper four times now and Foreplay twice and didn't get out of the ^()*$^%ing roll sections. Just depends where your strengths lie I guess.
For GGHT...guess the only thing to say is if you don't have a decent technique for playing quick bass doubles, a ten minute long song (or something, I wasn't really counting) is a *bad* place to be learning. :) Creep is probably good practice. Once you have the technique down you can yawn your way through GGHT while reading the paper.

It's not all that bad , yes its repetative but i like listening to the guitar :D

yeah, I'm exaggerating, actually the drummer did a pretty neat job of changing things up regularly at the end there. :) that long red-blue section before the fast part is a yawnarama though.

Thank you, I'll take that into practise and work hard on the pattern. Appreciate it.

I'm with Apples here. I love playing this song on Expert drums. Whenever it comes up in a set list, my guitarists are always like "Crap!" but I'm the only one that's "Sweet!".

I am stuck on this song too , on Medium get up to 71% but improving i used to get up to only 56% and crap out =( guess will have to keep practicing, the thing i hate about rock band is having to unlock songs , and play songs that i dont even like to get the songs i like they should , of made it less like guitar hero , and just gave everyone access to all the songs , so anyone can play what they like when they like makes it a much better game, and of course if you dont like a song , why should you be forced to play it, imo it all about fun

6 Attempts..reached 91% before failing..Sigh..I'll try agin tonight...
Good Practice...Sit at desk all day pretending to hit those fast notes toward the end..Glad to see I'm not alone..

Most of the drum parts don't scale well. Some start out really easy and end up wicked hard. Some start out hard and don't really progress much.
GG&HT is much the later, the difference between the medium song and the expert song are a few extra kicks and some rolls. That's about it. GG&HT is really hard on medium when you get to it. But 5-staring it will prepare you to move on to hard and build the endurance you'll need to play the last tier songs (which are all like 8 minutes long). First time I got to it on expert I 5-stared it, because it's not that hard.
And yes, there's a post about Medium GG&HT and Hard/Expert Run to the Hills like every day.
As for liking the Outlaws, I guess it depends on your opinions on southern rock. I grew up with it, and I respect the roots of rock n roll. Some of my friends aren't as keen on it or any of the 70's (and older) songs.

I have no problem with this song on drums. I have 5* it on Expert. I like to play it as well as Flirtin with disaster. It also may be because I am a drummer, but I think the song is fun.
However quitar on expert on GGAHT is a whole different story!!
