This is the most accurate, highest resolution true color image of planet Earth to date. And at 2048 x 2048 pixels, you should put it in your desktop background now.
All I can say is, wow. Those are two very beautiful pictures of Earth.

Why does the title say there is one picture but clearly two pictures were shown.

You also can't get a good view of Antarctica or South America. :(

The Earth isn't as detailed in this one (http://www.space-images.com/wallpapers/apollo/11-earthrise/apollo11_earthrise_1920x1200.jpg), but it makes a much better desktop, IMO. Granted, I look at images of Earth all day (though not in truecolor, usually) so the extra spiciness of this being from Apollo 11 is probably why I prefer it.

I like that. It's a little eerie because you're on the barren moon, looking at the colorful Earth as if it were the moon.

Indeed. Also much less color conflict with blue icons (which apparently most weather programs are).
