Thinking of getting this game, but I'm worried that I'll get it in the Xbox and realize that I've been sucked in by marketing and hype. Is it truly something immersive and special or just fetch quests, repetitive mission-types, and endless upgrading with a typical-for-a-videogame low-grade story?
Thanks.

Much more immersive story than the first, in my opinion. The fetch quests are mostly optional and the action of the main story is much more consistent.

I definitely feel it lived up to the hype, being the rare sequel that took all the good things from the original and improved upon them while ditching the bad things. I enjoyed the story too, especially the cryptic puzzles a certain character leaves throughout the game (which are optional, but well worth collecting and solving). Also, the soundtrack is gorgeous, which for me always adds to the immersion factor.
I think it's probably my second favorite game of 2009, after Dragon Age.

Just downloaded Sequence 13 today.
Is it worth it? I heard Forli was a rather disappointing piece of DLC.
The more expensive version of 13 seems to have three Assassin's Tomb-style locations thrown in, though, which makes it tempting... gameplay-wise, those were my favorite parts of the game.

I love the game even more for it being in Italy. The Italian language is just so beautiful.

The Battle of Forli was awful. Not really worth the download in my opinion. Bonfire of the Vanities was a lot better, but still not that worth it considering how short it was and the amount of bugs present.

i thought the game was okay.
I rented it a month ago, the parkour was rather enjoyable but the novelty wore off quick.
Controls felt a bit clumsy, especially for the freerunning (although it may be because i was also playing Uncharted 1 in the same time period).
Also hearing Nolan North in both games was kind of wierd.

I haven't even played Forli yet, even after buying it the day it came out. I heard negative stuff about it and feared that it would sully my experience of the game by throwing the story out of whack.

bman knows the score. The story is so great and has some closure, and then the DLC is like "oh wait, it's the same except you did this too"

I heard negative stuff about it and feared that it would sully my experience of the game by throwing the story out of whack.Just play it, it doesn't throw the story out of whack that much it actually helps it and explains how they find the codex pages which leads to the ending. I replayed the game when I had both dlc to see how everything worked together because I forgot how things went and I thought they both fit in nicely. The only thing bad about it was it's shortness and the fact that it's mostly all mercenary work instead of assassin work. You also get to fly the glider around forli whenever you want.

Personally I think my $5 for a fun evening was well spent.

Such an awesome game. The customisation is great I love all the different weapons, etc. The story was hugely immersive and the soundtrack was incredible. The only problem was that it didn't take too long to buy everything and then after that there's no use for Florins. There also wasn't much replayability, but since it was a fairly long game anyway that's not too bad.
