That's right.

I bought the 360 bundle on November 20th. Within an hour of playing, the guitar's fret buttons stopped working. Shortly after, the game disc itself cracked from the case (the push button to get the disc out). Then my USB hub broke, I got that replaced without having to send it back. I returned the game disc itself to Best Buy, they replaced it happily. Soon afterwards, the yellow pad on my drums stops working. So far I'm crossing my fingers that the microphone doesn't break.

Just received my replacement guitar a few hours ago too.

Has this happened to anyone else?

No, no problems here just microphone lag, we have to sing quietly.

both my brother and I got the rock band bundle for christmas. his guitar was broken out of the box, strummer didn't work. my strummer started double strumming after a few days. the yellow pad on my kit stopped working completely. both of our drum pedals have snapped.

I received Rock Band as a Christmas present and between the Live trouble and the shoddy Rock Band equipment it has been a pain of a holiday.

I had already read something about the strum bar issue and how they were breaking for people long before I received Rock Band. When I finally did get to hook it up and give everything a go my strum bar started to act up after about 3 hours of total gameplay. It is the worst feeling. My USB Hub has never worked 100% (some ports don't work or they work on/off) and my red pad on the drums needs to be hit twice as hard as the rest to register a hit.

I downloaded some of the DLC today for Rock Band and Live is still not working like it is supposed to. Every pack and song that I purchased would download to 99% and they say it "could not be downloaded" and let the partial files on the hard drive with no trace of them in Rock Band. Finally, after repeated attempts to complete the downloads again throughout the day I was able to and they all show up now.

I went to Best Buy tonight and noticed this print out they have above the Rock Band boxes on the display floor. It is a notice about getting the USB Microphone to work. It makes sure to mention that Rock Band didn't include information on whatever issue they are talking about and that it requires a "trick" to get it to work. So Best Buy has this little "trick" posted for potential buyers to read up on before they take the Rock Band package home.

Why should we as consumers have to put up with such blatant errors in design or reliability with a product we purchase? The equipment included with Rock Band seems cheap and "built by the cheapest sweatshop possible" feel to it. The guitar, the drums, USB hub... well, they are obviously junk since they are coming out DOA for new buyers and breaking after short spans of non-abusive, regular use. Did they not test this stuff before it was shipped to retailers? It's nice opening your new toy only to find a note that tells you not to return it to the store if something breaks. Talk about a bad omen. To me it was like EA/Harmonix were telling the customer, "Yes, we know our product is breaking for everyone so we went through enough trouble to include a note giving you a warning about what to do if that might happen. Oh, we are too concerned about raking in some cash this holiday season to actually hold our defective product back so we can make something that works and be proud to have our names attached to it. Thanks for the cash, sucker."

...I'm sick of defective video game stuff. Maybe because I just had my original 360 give me the RRoD at the first of December and had to wait on that to get shipped off and replaced/returned from Microsoft. Now I'm told to start shipping more broken stuff back to someone else because they won't just good-faith out a replacement first without getting your credit card info. I was sold something that had obvious known issues and you happy took my money for it. Buck up and try to offer a "above the norm" level of customer support and it might work out better in the long run.

No solid issues here yet. Oddities with the hub? Yes. Incredibly, mind-numbing-ly simple work arounds found though.

Possible strumming issue on Stratocaster but I let the guests use it or one of my older Xplorers or even my wireless if feeling generous. Have sent in for the replacement Strat and will hope that fixes it up.

Crossing fingers on Drums staying in one piece!

If you or anyone is having issues with the equipment be sure to visit the website/RMA thingy and walk through it. Incredibly easy and it didin't even bug me for a receipt or proof of purchase etc. for the Stratocaster swap.

I've also got to suggest taking it a bit easy on this plastic equipment. It's just plastic! :)
