At a first glance, metal seems to be loud, angry music played really fast and heavily distorted. But, when you see past that, you begin to understand how what metal's really about is constant bickering and nitpicking over what's "real metal" and what's not, arguing over what kind of metal different bands represent and which kind of metal is more "metal" than another, and making up new kinds of metal pretty much on the spot.

Not being a metalhead and therefore not having to worry about any of that is something I can be happy about every day.
