Hey there everyone.

We had over 30 people at my house for Christmas (thankfully just for supper and for a few hours afterwards). Here are a few things that I noticed in regards to Rock Band.

1. Harmonix, I salute you. Your game was a huge hit. Everyone tried it out, from 12 year olds, to the grandmas and the grandpas. NEVER before has a game drawn so many people in and provided such entertainment. (I thought that Wii Sports was the ultimate universal game. Not so much anymore...)

2. Everyone likes to try the drums.

3. Not many people like to sing.

4. Coors Light fixes point number 3.

5. The broad setlist is great to draw in as many people as possible. (When my buddies and I play, we stick to the same tunes. With this many people, all kinds of songs were played.)

6. DLC is freaking amazing. All American Rejects was very popular, and very cheap too!

7. The females repeatedly pointed out that they would like some more female rocking tunes in there. Most requested? I Love Rock and Roll, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, All Fired Up, and Kiss Me Deadly.

8. No jokes. I am serious here. Honestly. Someone brought up the idea of a Michael Jackson pack. At first, I thought that it was a stupid idea. But then, the thought of us rocking out to Beat It put a huge smile on my face. Harmonix, I need to Beat It! (Huh huh, huh, huh...)

9. A ballad pack would be great. Sister Christian, some Def Leppard ballads, maybe even some Brian Adams. Man, the thought of the lighters being waved back and forth...

10. I am sure that you must be working on it, but some Guns and Roses, Van Halen, Def Leppard, more Chilipeppers, Motley Crue, Offspring would make us old guys (in my mid 30's) happy. Nickelback, Finger 11, and maybe some Matchbox 20 would be great too.

And there you have it. The game was a huge hit, and the request list for future DLC became a major topic of discussion.

Time to go rock out!

Stories like this must put a smile on Harmonix's faces. Hell, it put a smile on my face as just another Rock Band player! Nice to see you're having so much fun with the game. :)

As for the DLC requests, there's a feature for that at the bottom of this site. Just click on "Request Song" and input the information! Not sure how they're doing it exactly, but more numbers can't hurt. If they see 20,000 people request the same song (Hey, I know that number is high -- one can hope :P), then they're more likely to add it (One would assume) than a song with only 4 requests, licensing permitting.

We had 15 people over for Christmas Dinner and had the same thing happen! And, we have nearly every party toy imaginable, including Wii and a Karaoke Machine and GH II and III, but EVERYONE wanted to play Rock Band.

A HUGE second request from my group also for more tunes with female vocals (I generally do vocals and I'm sick of doing mostly guy tunes).

GREAT game; I'm eagerly awaiting a greater/wider selection of DLC; my family has already purchased the Police pack, Brass in Pocket, All American Rejects, I Fought the Law and a few others.

I've had friends and family over hanging out twice playing Rockband. I was suprised by the number of people that wanted to sing songs. Unfortunately everyone only knows the lyrics to the same songs...Say it Ain't so, In Bloom etc. Even though everyone wants to sings Enter Sandman. None of the chicks playing with us complained about not enough female vocalist songs. However after I sang Garbage they enjoyed it so much they made me do it again. So I guess sometimes guys do get stuck singing female vocals in Rockband.

This isn't a Christmas story per se as it is a pre-new years eve party story. I have a friend who is having people over to his house for a party, drinks, food, fun. Well, he's really not a video game guy. He's seen GH before as I introduced him to it a while back. He played it a couple times and wasn't terrific right away so he just enjoyed watching.

ANYWAY, he wants me to bring RB over and has been telling people that I'll be bringing it and those people are inviting thier friends to the party now. So I now have to hit another friend of mine up for his RB stuff so we can have face offs and stuff. Should be one of those 4 police visit parties.:D

Micheal Jakson would be awesome. Just so you know Beat it has one of the Hardest guitars its by Van Halen.

Right here in my entertainment room there is a picture of me with Eddie Van Halen. I met him in 1991, and have been a huge fan since the early 80's. I just saw VH in Edmonton two weeks ago, and they were amazing.

I absolutely know that EVH is the genius behind the solo in Beat It. I hope that HMX can get this game in so that I can play it. (There is no other way for me to play his solo, as real guitar and I just don't see eye to eye.)

Sounds more like your trying to get HMX to put some songs in to the game that you want with telling them a happy fake family story

Ha ha!

That would be brilliant, if it worked...

Maybe I could start a thread entitled, "Peace Achieved in Pakastan, thanks to Guns and Roses DLC in Rock Band."

The Christmas story was a true one.
