I am really confused as to why the microphone will all of a sudden do an echo effect when you're singing a song? And when it decides to do it, it doesn't really even sound right. Is there a way to disable this? Is there a way to control echo effects to only do them when you want to do them? I'm actually a little dissapointed that I can't hear my voice coming through the music more in Rock Band 2 Wii.....I have adjusted the settings to turn down the master vocal track and have my microphone all the way up, but it still sounds like it could be standing out more in the mix.

Is the echo happening when you go into overdrive?
If you've found the mic sensitivity and volume settings, and have those all the way up and the vocals from the song all the way down, I'd say that's about all the volume you will get. Sorry I can't be of more help.

it happens whenever the lyrics area turns to that golden pattern looking scroll....is that overdrive? Wonder if I don't want the echo effect?

that's the activation area for overdrive. It increases the score multiplier and the more band members in at the same time, the more it multiplies.
If you've sang or talked into the mic at that time it turned on the overdrive.
Turning down the effects in the audio menu should lessen the effect. It will also make the chime that happens when you get another star less prominent.
