So, the latest Gorillaz album (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plastic_Beach) is finally out. Normally I wouldn't be exited about an album like this, but the Gorillaz are kind of a guilty pleasure for me.

Usually, It takes me a few playthroughs to enjoy and appreciate an album, but Plastic Beach made a firm impression the first time around.

It looks like they really focused on a lyrical theme this time, unlike some of their other albums, and added a considerable number of collaborative tracks, including one with the Dogg himself.

As far as range, it all fits with the exception of the two classical pieces, and is the style you would expect from the Gorillaz.

So, in my opinion, not the best from them, but a good listen.

I love it, but I think they focused to much on the "guests" on the albums. To much of th e others artists singing. Good album overall though.

It was good.. But as Justin19954 said.. Too much focus on the guests. It wasn't as good as Demon Days or even close to their first album... It was just... "This is alright."

It was ok. I don't think it's huge and Career defining or anything, but still a good album nonetheless.

I think this is a good step in the right direction for Gorillaz

This is one of thier best albums and, in my opinion, the techno/electronic vibe sounds better than the gloomy sounds of Demon Days

I think this is easily their best album. Their debut was all over the place, Demon Days was much better as it had a nice flow to it~ Plastic Beach also has that nice flow but it's the pop/electronic sound of the album along with the great collaborations that really makes it soar above the others.

It's absolutely hilarious that a lot of people are complaining about the guests... Gorillaz has always been collaborations of different musicians, with Albarn being the only constant member... did any of you actually listen to Demon Days?! :p

Here's the artists featured in that album:

De La Soul, Neneh Cherry, Martina Topley-Bird, Roots Manuva, MF DOOM, Ike Turner, Bootie Brown of the Pharcyde, Shaun Ryder, Dennis Hopper, the London Community Gospel Choir and the Children's Choir of San Fernandez.

Here's the artists featured in Plastic Beach:

Snoop Dogg, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Kano, Bashy, Bobby Womack, Mos Def, Gruff Rhys, De La Soul, Little Dragon, Mark E. Smith, Lou Reed, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, sinfonia ViVA and The Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music.
There's really not that much of a difference...

5 songs on Demon Days that only has Albarn on vocals versus 4 on Plastic Beach...

Loved Plastic Beach. I'm so excited for this to come out! This is going to be the first album I buy from any band. Everything just feels so happy and melancholy compared to Demon Days. If I were to think about it, I would say the first album fit Murdoc, Demon Days fits Noodle more because of the style and because she wrote some of the songs, and Plastic Beach would be more like 2D's album because it has that odd happy feeling.

Well apparently Murdoc dragged 2-D to Plastic Beach and forced him to write the album with a Whale watching him, and 2-D has a great fear of whales...

Well there really isn't any way around the buckets, but you know how you can only fill the bucket with water once then you can't fill it up anymore? There is a way to empty the bucket so you can keep filling it up with water. Just do this: As soon as you fill it up, go back to where you first got the bucket (By Murdoc's room), you will see the bucket there again. Take the new bucket, and go back to where the elevator is flooded and fill the bucket up again. Repeat this process and there you go. Somehow, you will reach 8 million buckets. (I'm not fully done with the 8 million buckets yet but so far its working for me.

Nope, nothing else to do. Hmm.....so far I got nothing on the machine. The coin is probably in the flooded room or the worker gives it to you after you do the 8 million bucket thing.

I'm listening to Rhinestone Eyes right now. It isn't that bad. What are some of the standout songs on this album?

I definitely think this is the kind of album that's best to listen to from start to finish.

That said: "Empire Ants", "On Melancholy Hill", and "Superfast Jellyfish" are my standouts.

Well, I'll check it out sometime. I'll try to listen to it all the way through.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering, but whos gonna be the guitar player for Coachella? Isn't Noodle trapped in hell or something?

She "escaped" before Murdoc could find her.

Also, live people will perform. Look at their performances at the Apollo.

Don't they put up TV screens for the "real" band though?

They did that once for their first tour and it ended up being way too expensive, so they haven't done it since. Save for award shows that is.

Well maybe since it's only one day of playing they might do it.

Is there any place where I can learn the full Gorillaz story? Ever since I've listened to Plastic Beach I've been so intrested in the Gorillaz and the stuff I know is really confusing me haha.

Plastic Beach is good, I haven't really listened to it too much much since I got it, but what's even better than the CD is the music video for for its first single "Stylo." Look it up on Youtube.

I do not enjoy this album as much as Demon Days but that said, I still cannot freaking wait to see them at Coachella. I just know deep in my heart that they are going to absolutely kill it.

Edit: I just checked out the video for Stylo on Youtube. The video itself was awesome but I do not like the new design of the characters, they are a bit uncanny valley for me.
